I was just messing around and found something that could accutually work.

So heres what I came up with:

I came acorss this sound box:

1. Plug in the Digital Optical cable into the Sound Box from the 360 using this:

2. Plug in X 540 into outputs. All of them are there that are needed.

Will this get me full 5.1 Surround sound with my Xbox 360? I know the games have to support it.

You might have to have the USB box connected to a PC, I dont know if it will do the 5.1 decoding on its own. A better bet would be a cheap 5.1 receiver, as everyone is going to HDMI decoded audio, there are lots of these online for cheap prices. An even simpler solution would be to try to find a set of Logitech 5450's, although they have been discontinued, they come with a really nice decoder box and work as a nice standalone 5.1 speaker setup for game consoles.

hmmm 5.1 receivers are very expensive. I looked on ebay and they are like $200 to $400. Can you please post a link?
