Help, Toshiba Regza wont turn on !

I've got a 42'' Regza that wont turn on. nothing works... I hit the power button, no lights, no sound, no noises, nothing.

I just wanted to get an idea here if anyone had any experience in TV repair? Do these regzas have a typical bad power board? IE, bad capacitors? bad relays? or other??

I am gonna start dis-assembly this weekend and see what comes up, I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with the Toshiba at all.

any help would be greatly appreciated !

I pulled it apart tonight. I found the little fuse right near the power cord was blown. I replaced it and it imidiately blew as soon as I plugged the cord back in. It sounds like a power board problem. I've pulled every board out of the TV to look for burn marks and whatnot, but to no avail. I am pretty much stumped here, all the caps are nice and flat, and I can't find anything that physicaly looks like its broken.

I should have unplugged the power board from EVERYTHING, before I plugged it back in.... o well.

whats a broken 42'' TV worth anyway ???

I had a 42" Regza from 2007-2008 that wouldn't turn on after a service menu calibaration and an electrical storm power surge.

The TV was serviced by BrandsMart USA store I brought it from. They fixed it, I have no ideal what the problem was.

Later I tried to sell/ship the TV and it was destroyed by UPS, who paid for the TV through insurance.

hey,i have a 55" toshiba regza model # 52xv645u.
today when i woke up and want it to turn it on it wouldnt,i check everything and nothing seems to be wrong,is jus that it wont turn on,not even from the remote,as i was searching for a solution i came across with this forum and read that you change the fuse...where did you get it? can it be any fuse that fits? is it worth it to send the tv to get fix? i have 2 years with it.

I had the samething happen to my Toshiba 46 I have ordered a power board we'll see what will do, oh my fuses were fine. The board was easier to fine than the fuse. mad.gif
