Question on installing Panasonic HDMI Board-8 Series - TY-FB8HM

Hello,

Just wanted to clarify something on installing the TY-FB8HM terminal board on my Panasonic Plasma TV (I have the 42PH9UK model).

I received my board yesterday and about to install it.
I looked on the back of my TV and I have 3 slots, 2 of which are currently being one. Slot 1 is NOT being used.

I am assuming it would be ok to install the HDMI board in slot 1? Any reason I cant?

Just wanted to make sure I install it in the right slot and installed correctly. Hate to screw something up since it was super hard to get my hands on this terminal board.

Many thanks.

Yes, pull the AC plug, install into Slot 1, plug the AC back in, fire up and you are ready to go.

If I might follow up;

I just installed the board into my TV.
It appeared to go well. I dont think anything went wrong. Seemed to slide in just fine.

I guess my question is, if the board is incorrectly installed, what happens when I try and push a signal through it? Could it damage the TV? the board?

Just want to make sure i get this right.

Thanks.

Trying a signal cannot hurt anything.
Just be careful inserting the HDMI conector, the pins are easily bent. Push the connector straight in, not at an angle and you should be OK.

Good to go.

plugged in the cables into the TV and the DVR, turned it on and I get a video signal.

Couple things (and I will probably do some research, then start a thread if I cant figure it out)...

1.) I get a picture on my DVR, but no sound. i still need to unplug the audio cable and my guess is, configure something in my AVR.

2.) The picture looks, different. Hard to explain. I cant tell if it looks better or not, if not a little 'fuzzy'. Granted, I was real close when I was looking.
Switching channels seemed to take longer...

Other than that, the installation went well.

Thanks Techniwizard
