Revel F12 vs Polk RTI A9

I am considering 2 speakers for my mains. The Polk Rti A9 and the Revel F12. I am planning on using them 50/50 HT and music. My listening room is about 20 *24 and very poorly shaped for audio as it's a loft style house. I will be using an Onkyo tx nr1007 to power them. I may purchase separate amps down the road though. I can get the Revels for less than the Polks but for this post, I am only concerned with sound quality (which is the better of the two). I know that depends alot on the listener but I would like your opinions all the same. I cannot audition these either so I will be buying blind. I don't like to audition speaker in showrooms anyhow as there's too much room for chicanery, and the speakers will not sound the same in the store as your house anyhow.

To me, I think the Revel's are a better product no matter how you slice it. I think they build a better speaker overall, and I like how neutral their speakers are. The F12 gets great reviews and has great bass output. I would pick that in a heartbeat.

I haven't heard the Revels, but I've heard the Polks and was not impressed. I thought they were pretty awful actually.

It's not a good idea to buy without auditioning, but regardless, there are far better choices than the Polks.

+1 on that. I would pick the Revel F12 even over the Polk LSi15 any day of the week, much less the anything in the RTi series.

+2 for the Revels. They are quite good. If you find the Revel center channel a bit too expensive buy the Infinity Beta C360 or Infinity Interlude IL36C. All will timbre match with the Revel as will the Infinity Cascade center - and the Classia center. All use the Infinity CMMD 1" tweeter from the Prelude and Interlude days. It is so good Infinity hasn't had to develop a new tweeter in the past 15 years or so for their top of the line speakers.
