Batman: Arkham City - Page 2

Holy crap better finish anything else I am playing by the time this is out as this one will tie me up for some time then.

Can't wait. I loved the first one.
I haven't played the first one other than the demo so I may pick it up on Steam when it goes on sale for the release of the second.

Hopefully Rocksteady Studios can nail the same level of atmosphere with a larger enviroment.

Also if Rocksteady can tighten up the gameplay (not easy to do as Batman: Arkham Asylum was almost perfect), we'll have another classic.

Anything new to report?

And will there be a collectors edition (with something useful)?

The collector's edition has a statue and art books.
Hmm I like the statue but I'll probably hold off on it as $100 seems steep. If like other collectors editions lately it will be 1/2 the price after a month or 2 at most.

Thanks

What are the best pre-order deals out there for Batman: AC?
After a year I finally played Batman:AA and I can't believe I waited this long to play it. Once I started I was hooked and literally just completed the game. Must say I got a little motion sickness from time to time especially when traversing through vents and small spaces.

I think I might be taking a long break from shooters since it's gotten to a point where I was bitching more than playing a game and enjoying it like I did with Batman. Forgot how game playing used to be, lol!

Looking forward to Batman:AC and Ninja Gaiden 3!

The fact that the PC version of this was delayed is tough for me. I'd rather play the PC version, but November is going to be busy with Assassin's Creed, Zelda Skyward Sword, Super Mario 3D, and maybe Skyrim and the Telltale Jurassic Park game. (Not really interested in BF or CoD).

The only big release I'm interested in for October is maybe the Kirby game, other than that I'm just finishing up some stuff in my backlog. I haven't decided yet, but I might just have to get the 360 version just so I actually have time to play this.

Damn, I need to get on AA, and quick. Only at 38%, though I haven't played it in over a year. Batman: AC is not going to be a day one buy for me, not because I don't think it will be epic - just look at some of the early reviews... one stating that "Batman: Arkham City is not only the best superhero game ever made, it's one of the best games ever made full-stop" and another to "revel in one of the greatest games ever conceived" - rather I hope to find a deal during the Holidays. I picked up AA for $30 during one of the Amazon lightening rounds in Nov/Dec. only a few months after its release so I hope something similar pops up later this year.

Same here. I am not going to buy games brand new anymore. Then again, most of my games were gifts from the gf =p

When I completed the game last night, it was only at 67%, so, I have some challenges and stuff to complete. I have a backlog of games as well and this game finally opened up my eyes. Uncharted 2 is next and then God of War 3 and then Bayonetta.

Dude, Uncharted 2 is amazing! Yet another game I have to finish. Damn you MW2 and your instant gratification. MW2 is one of those games I can just hop into, knowing that I don't have to really relearn how to play or where I was in the storyline, yet I end up playing it too much. Although I love my SP games I find that once I stop I have a hard time getting back into them. Need to rectify that. On the other hand I like to savor my SP games. I'm not one of those who burn through a game over a weekend. I'll play for a while, searching ever nook and cranny, then put it down for an extended period before getting back into it. The major downside is that like many of you here I have an extensive list of backlogged games. Heck I even have some really good PS2 and Gamecube games that I left behind.

God of War 3 is another on my list of must buy games, but I want to get through 1 & 2 first. I picked up the combo pack last Holiday season for $10 during a lightening deal on Amazon. Almost picked up Killzone 2 for $10 as well, but I figured I didn't need another game that might end up being backlogged, lol.

Strange that you say that you completed AA at 67%. When I compared games in Xbox Live its shows you at 55% and me at 38%. Wonder if the % is different in-game for me. I'll have to check.

I don't know why that says 55% but it was @67% and I played some more again today to collect all the secret stuff and now I am @71%

Dang. There are some pesky green question marks that I just can't find. I would be right on them bit still can't find it. It's nuts!

I may not even attempt to go back and try to do all the puzzles as I have 4 other games to complete. Lol!

Pretty bold statement from a DVDTALK forum member who already has the game.

After 2 hours of play, I'm calling it. Batman: Arkham City is 2011 GOTY. It's possibly the most flawless and perfectly executed game I have ever played. There is just so much to do, and every single item in the game is incredibly detailed. I just don't see how anything can even come close this year, or probably even next year.
Best deal for this game is by far the Kmart offer, $30 coupon for later game purchase. Too bad that many people do not have them close by. Luckily I have 2 near me.
Since I wont be getting this on release, I will just wait until someone on craigslist sells it for $30 or something.
Well Toys R Us has a Buy 2 Get 1 Free deal this week as well.

So if you need other things that may be a better deal for ya.

Amazon let me down. I almost always get release day delivery with Prime, but it looks like I won't get the game until tomorrow
post #54 of 243
This one is going on my Christmas list. Loved the last one but with BF3 and Skyrim coming out so close together, I won't have any time for it until probably close to the new year.

As a matter of fact, I need to buy inFamous 2 and I haven't found one on craigslist yet so maybe I need to look in to TRU. Thanks for the heads up.

Really? My Amazon order says "out for delivery".

If you don't get it today, contact Amazon. When Space Marine released there was a holiday the day before, when it was supposed to ship - many didn't get it on release date. Some got refund credit, others bumped to overnight.

Thanks, I think that's worth a try! Amazon CS has always come through for me in the past.

Just picked up 3 copies from BB. Had them PM the TRU ad.

The BB version comes with the Robin DLC code. Robin DLC not available until 11/1 according to BB.

I got it for less, using reward zone certificates...but this game is well worth $60.

The reviews are correct this game is BETTER than Arkham Asylum....WOW.

The gameplay is pitch-perfect with choices and variety. Its not GTA-but the world feels alive.

You have so many side quest/missions and a real compelling main story.

Its a great mix of exploration, action and strategy.
