La Horde aka The Horde - Now Available...

"La horde" aka "The Horde", the French action/horror/thriller is now available on IFC On Demand.

"In order to avenge the murder of one of their own by a group of ruthless gangsters, four corrupt cops go on a rampage against the mob responsible.

A horde of bloodthirsty cannibal zombies complicates matters."

The action is fast, the violence is brutal and there's blood and gore aplenty.

More action than horror it should keep you entertained throughout.

Check here to see if it is available in your area: IFC On Demand availability (enter your Zip code and provider)

Highly Recommended for action/zombie/horror/blood and gore freaks.

Oooh can't wait to peep this. Watch this weekend or wait for October.

Let me get this right, CORRUPT cops go on a vendetta against gangsters because they killed one of the corrupt cops and THEN there is a mass of Zombies that come in to play? Sounds cool. I will check this out.

LOL!
IMO, it's hard to screw up ANY movie with illogical and gratuitous zombies in it.

For some reason I picture that old StarTrek episode with Kirk and Spock dressed in their gangster outfits - and then the Zombies show up. MwaHaHa!

Have you ever played "Left for Dead", that will give you an idea of what the movie is like.

Lots of action, lots of blood and Gore.
For some reason I like how the did the old man in the movie.
The ending, very nice.

Sorry, but this one was no good for me. I love the zombie horror genre but I just cant stand a movie that is so far fetched that I just cant get into it. Not since Land of the Dead where the zombies learn to use guns themselves have I been so disappointed in a zombie flick.

They manage to kill the very first zombie by shooting it in the head, but do they shoot the next 1000 of them in the head? No, they continue to shoot wildly and waste ammo.

They were not the brightest bunch. They never figured out how to put one down, they just keep "doing" it by mistake imo.

Yeah, that would take me out as well. How can they not know? My four year old daughter knows.

Just rewatched this over the weekend. Still very enjoyable and the lead bad guy his facial expressions..priceless.

I watched it dubbed this time. Bit hard to follow with the sound and lips being off but watchable.

NF finally delivered me a DVD copy...

WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!
First of all, I must apologize to those who sang its praises....while I twiddled my thumbs.
This is the BEST Action Zombie flick since Snyder's Dawn of the Dead.

Many times, during my viewing, a couple of films came to mind: Snyder's DotD and Cameron's Aliens.
Why?
The kinetic energy the editing brings to this movie is simply enthralling.
The "fight" scenes were breathtaking...it has never been done better IMO.
This is pure edge-of-your-seat stuff.

DotD and Aliens spends much more time with "character development."
The Horde is all about screaming, hyperventilation, and nail-bitting.

I don't know WHO is responsible for The Horde, but I do know this:
Hats-off gentleman....a genius is born.

I might also add, while the AV of the DVD is very good, Amazon.ca has a BD available for $20 Canadian.

This has been in my Blockbuster queue for a while and now showing unavailable. Too bad, a good Zombie movie is hard to find...

IMO, the AV of the BD is an upgrade over the DVD and worth the extra cost for fans of the movie and/or BD addicts.

Here is a review and screencaps:

I'd love to do that to one of those signs!

Watched The Horde last night. Excellent zombie movie. One of the best modern zombie films.

I liked it, this movie was very much like playing "Left for Dead"

Finally showed in my Queue. Definately better than most Zombie movies and I give it an A for brutality.

It also reminded me a bit of Attack the block with it's gang vibe.

Saw this months ago on Netflix streaming, and really liked it. A great zombie romp and I appreciated the high percentage of hand-to-hand combat as compared to most zombie flicks.
