Make sure your 110 wpc AVR has pre-outs to connect to that new external amp you are thinking of getting. Not all AVRs have pre outs.
A 12 V trigger is also nice to turn on the new external amp without having to get up to turn it on. With a 12 V trigger on your AVR, you can turn the amp on with the remote.

If I have a 110wpc avr and get a 3 channel 300wpc amp, will those channels get a combined 410wpc or just the 300 from the amp?
