Looking to upgrade computer and was planning on installing an internal blu-ray burner. Anyone have any suggestions on the best one available on the market right now?

I'll I care is that it is fast, doesn't burn coasters and is black to match the rest of my computer.

I think the "coaster" issue is a more a matter of the media your burning......

I got a LG 10X BR-reader / DVD+-rw for $60...I am gonna wait on the BR burning due to to media prices...and who knows I may not even burn Brs if hard-drives stay so cheap.....

The LG burners seem to be about the easiest to obtain locally and they work fine, as stated don't use the cheapest blank media that you can find and you should be good to go.

I've been using the Pioneer model for more than a year now with no issues at all. This is the current model:

Pioneer BDR-205 - Disk drive - BD-RE - 12x/2x/8x - Serial ATA - internal - 5.25"

Good luck!

I have a LG burner myself. I got it 2 years ago. I have only used Verbatim media and every single one came out perfect.

I got a cheapo 2x LiteOn burner for $99 + tax from Costco in Canada about a year ago and it's been perfect with BD 25gb blanks. I can't use double-layer since this burner only supports single-layer media.
