I've recently upgraded from an ancient Zenith 27in tube TV to a very nice Samsung UN46C6800. I love it, except for the dreaded "soap opera effect," which ruins everything.
I've turned off "LED Motion Plus" in Advanced Settings and "Auto Motion Plus" in Picture Settings, and it seems like the frame interpolation/smoothing is gone on normal TV content (via HDMI from my DVR), but any content I play with the Netflix software built into the TV still looks awful. I never imagined a "better" frame rate would look so awful! When I watch, say, 30 Rock, it looks like a bloopers/behind-the-scenes reel.
Is anyone familiar enough with this line of TVs to help me figure out what else I may need to turn off? I've thoroughly dug through the menus so many times but am at a loss.
Thanks much!
