Quick audio source toggle Onkyo 604

Folx,

I have an HTPC hooked up via HDMI (audio+video) to Onkyo 604 to Sammy DLP. Working 100% for a number of years, loving it, DTS and all.

Wife was bitten by a karaoke bug so I installed some karaoke software on HTPC and it works great, cept mike in.

So my idea is to instead use my Behringer 802 preamp/mixer to mix both the mike(s) and the output of the HTPC into a combined analog L+R and feed that to Onkyo.

All I need now is to figure out a way to toggle my Onkyo between 2 modes:

1) HDMI carries both audio and video - such as when playing MKVs etc

2) HDMI carries only video, the audio should be taken via analog in

Is there a way to go about that ? Ideally just an IR command or a few.

On a related note, I'd also need to toggle the HTPC as well, so that when in "karaoke" mode, it sends the audio out via analog out - as opposed to using the the HDMI audio out.

Worked out great.

It appears that as long as HDMI *video* input is plugged in, it will always be output to the HDMI out - so HTPC always has its video displayed.

I plugged the Behringer output into the "Tape" L-R on the Onkyo.

Now all I need to go into karaoke mode is to activate "Tape" input in Onkyo and viola, it works ! The audio comes from the mixer - that mixed the mike(s) and the analog output of the PC.

Right before I go into karaoke, I switch the HTPC's default audio from "HDMI out" to "Realteak output". And when ready to play some MKVs, switch the default audio out back to "HDMI out". A very minor inconvenience, I hope to find a piece of SW that will allow me to automate that step.
