Haha, I haven't tried it yet but plan on since I still get an annoying pop up each time I go to export

FYI - for anyone curious just check the last comment in my Zappiti blog post

Since Damian has it on his blog I guess its not a secret anymore...

If you add a simple line to your host file you can bypass the whole zappiti activation scenario. It will show that your version is activated without having to send any info to HDLand.

Well I think my whole NFS SMB question seems to have been answered for me.

I have been unable to get my export files to work now. With the older version do zappiti, it locked up or just didn't complete the update. Now with the newer version after re-scraping the tv section of the database (which completely disappeared when I switched), again I cannot get a complete set of zappiti folders. I am doing the update with the thumb drive plugged into the pc,rather by network to the dune. When it wouldn't work , I deleted everything in the export folder and re-exported so it would be clean, same problem.

My only guess is the database has got screwed up somewhere along the line. If anyone has any ideas how to recover let me know, otherwise I will go ahead and create a common media share next week, and recreate the database. Not looking forward to this. I did have a backup of the export from a couple weeks ago so that will work until next weekend.

I currently have a Popcorn Hour C-200. I'm not happy with the support and the stability.

Question 1: Did Dune fixed the old color bug? It was a bug that REC601 was used for HD content, rather REC709

Quote:

"The issue with REC601 vs REC709 for HD resolution video was resolved at some point in a new firmware, but cant remember the version. The issue only related to certain HD video files which lacked the proper colorspace flags but was resolved to also work correctly for non flagged files"

Question 2: Does the Dune support pass-thru of Video Signals without scaling?
Thanks
S.

Question 3: Did anybody had compared the Picture Quality between Dune vs. Popcorn Hour? The same Sigma Chip is used so I would not expect any big differences but I'm curious to hear some comments.

Queston 3: Support of 2.5Tb HDD internal?

Did not notice any difference in PQ (I have 2 Dunes and 2 PCHs in my house)

Check MPCClub, I believe you can find OSX jukeboxes for the Dune (I am not a Mac user)

DuneX is a jukebox that supports Mac OSX, I have used it and it is ok. I prefer the Windows based ones better though. In particular, I use Dune Flash Interface for my player based jukebox and 10muse for my iPad based jukebox.

Try DuneX for the only Mac Jukebox.

Edit-beaten to the punch.

Thanks for the suggestion. Dune Flash Interface looks very good, the question is how stable and fast it is.

For the iPad 10muse: Does this application get the Jukebox library form the Dune or does 10muse need the "10Muse Library Manager" to access the movies....

Ah! Much better.

For DFI, the developer is Russian and the latest version has some of the stuff still in Russian. However, it is pretty stable and I find it fast enough for my use.

For the iPad 10muse, you need both the 10Muse Library Manager and the iPad app. the Library Manager is windows only.

Thank You in advance,

Ok, I guess that's probably it.

Does anyone know how to disable the "Scanning for Cue Sheets..." process that Dune performs when it creates a playlist? This takes about 30-40 seconds when I create a playlist of all my music files. I commonly do this and play them with the random(shuffle) option ON.

Thanks

I will say my unRAID server logs an error in the syslog about getting a bad request from the dune.

/mnt/ is on the client (Dune, in this case). I had to snoop around some with puTTY, but found a virtual drive referencing the share. It's been a while--sorry I don't remember more details.

Yes, but the MCM, which is needed for creating the indexes on the Dune is not on OS X. At least that's how I understand their offerings.

The Collection Management tool is what you download for OS X (that would be the only option available since you obviously can't run WMC on OS X). The questions is just whether or not the jukebox export/creation function is in the OS X CM version or not

After digging around the website the other day it appears that the export function is absent from the OSX version.

Hi Guys, I'm very new to this and I'm still in the research phase but I have pretty much decided that my media player purchase will be a Dune.

I use Macs so I have been looking at the available options to operate natively in OSX and that is how I came across the My Movies OSX version. In light of your above posts, what exactly does this mean for a Mac user? Would I have full functionality within My Movies & Dune, or not?

Sorry if this is something obvious but as mentioned, I'm just learning!

Cheers

Unfortunately not. You will have to use another jukebox such as this:

Thanks for the quick reply and for posting the link!

I'm trying to understand this so, am I correct in deducing that support for Dunes requires an "add-on", for lack of a better word, that has not been added into the OSX version (at least as of yet)?

I do have Parallels & Win7 installed so that option is available to me but I always find it nice to work within the native OS, if possible.

Cheers

Not really an add on. Basically the jukeboxes viewed are nothing more the HTML type files that the jukebox outputs and the Dune can then view natively. So basically the 3rd party jukeboxes just need to be able to create this output (and it sounds like for My Movies in OSX this output option was stripped out for now). Here is one jukebox called Zappiti that I use that I wrote a guide for that may give you a better idea of how it works:

Thanks again for the explanation and the link...more reading to do, not that there isn't enough to read already! hahaha

This is what I use and honestly, it's the best option. It will allow you the most choices when it comes to jukeboxes.
