Probably never going to happen. Dune did acknowledge my emails to them about this but have always said they would "look into it". Bottom line is it's apparently just not a priority compared to something like having subtitles in pig Latin.

Thanks, I am glad I verified this. I guess it's another 2tb hardrive then. Unfortunately, my Dune Max does not have a SATA port at the back.

Eventually I am going to move to a Lime RB-1200 unraid Server and will need to figure out how to move all my externals to it without losing any data.

When watching TV episodes, does the Dune have a way to mark the ones that I've watched already, so I can easily see which ones are new?

Running Zappiti 2.4.7 on a Smart D1. Is there a way in Zappiti to see what movies don't have any assigned genres, other than manually viewing the settings for each?

Delete?!?! What is this delete thing you speak of... /says the man with 120TB+ of storage.

Once on an episode backdrop I think you can delete directly by using popup menu on the remote, then you should have something like "delete source file".

Dune explorer is almost dead. I think you should have a look between Zap or Yadis.

I use Dune Explorer and so does my mate--we both like it.

I finally got a D1 today & I had a few questions about set up & I could use your help.
1) I have a Panny 1080P. I have it set to 1080P 60. Correct? Can I set it to auto to display even better? When I look @ info, it displays my files as a higher resolution & lower refresh rate?
2) I've used a 8G SD card for system storage. How do I partition it to use just 2G for system storage? I was thinking of using the rest for Zapitti?
3) I'm using external HDs in a Sans tower & rip BRs to them & then re-attach to Dune for watching. I guess I should have them attached to Dune to determine paths for scraping with Zipitti while using PC?

1. yes set it to auto, then the dune will switch automatically to the correct refresh rate. Keep the 1080p/60hz as it will be used for the main UI.
3. yes, connect it to the dune, that's the best way (at least for yadis, but I think that Zap is the same)

I've had my Dune Smart player for about 5 months now. I think it just died on me. I have the D1, I think, that's the one with the front LCD display right? Anyway, it no longer displaye the time. I get no video output. When the rear toggle is turned off and then back on the red light by the power button lights, if I press the power button or press the power button on the remove that red light goes out and nothing happens.

I am at a loss as to how to trouble shoot or if I just need to contact Dune for service....

What is my next best step?

Try using the composite analog video output - direct to your display - and see if you get a picture.

I'm using a Dune Smart D1 and the Zapitti media center with all files on a QNAP NAS. As my movie collection has grown I've noticed the Zapitti UI is getting slowing. I'm pretty sure I've heard of folks here using an SD card or USB drive to store the Zapitti database but can seem to search for it. Can someone summarize how to configure this setup? One related question is how I can then minimize the number of steps to get into the Zapitti interface. Is it possible to add a shortcut to the Dune startup page?

No luck with composite video. Same thing. Unit seems dead.

For a shortcut (which I think just about everyone uses) you need to set up system storage. If you want to store your Zappiti db on a thumb drive then I would just partition that drive, so a portion is system storage (you will not have access to the partition once you set up) and the other portion is for your Zappiti jukebox. As far as the jukebox itself you can simply have Zappiti export to the thumb drive over the network. Some of the guys here using syncing software to do which should work faster. I just stick with using my WHS for the Zappiti jukebox simply for convenience (have multiple players, etc...)

Contact the distributer where you bought it from and get it replaced.

Man...first time in a long time I have heard of someone's Dune croaking on them! That sucks! Hopefully it is still under warranty..

Doesnt matter, I just use a basic 2GB USB thumb drive installed internally in my Dune. If you are going to partition for system storage and to store your jukebox data you will want to get a bigger thumb drive (maybe 8GB+)

Only other thing I can suggest is to pop the hood and try re-seating all the connections.
