The Dune product can be setup so that (for example) the only item appearing on the main menu is the index of movies - can this sort of thing be done with the 550?

Although now amazon shows it's out of stock and not taking preorders.

Preorder still worked for me.... and it still states:

Maybe they were in the middle of editing it when you looked or something.

is there an estimated ship date? Although if I pick one up I will be waiting for BestBuy to get them since I still have more credits to use there so I would have no out of pocket cost.

I've had mine on preorder from 5 different UK sellers - Pixmainia wasn't one of them... They just got my order though, £140.50 delivered

As a followup to the great work Pete has done with MCM....have you been successfully using it for your files? Are there any tagging issues remaining?

I've downloaded it and tried it, but since I can't actually test the .tag files on a NTV550 (yet), I'd like make verify that it does work as it should before thanking him by purchasing a license.

THanks for the headsup, i got my preorder, i hope i get one from the first batch they recieve. Btw can anyone post if theirs ship, just want to see amazon gets the first units.

ordered from Fry's earlier and was going to see how much it ended up being on amazon (if cheaper would cancel frys)...same price but living in NY its more because of tax...so even with 2-day shipping from frys and free 2 day with amazon prime it was still cheaper for me to get it from frys...now i just hope to get one of the first few...and hopefully get it before i go to Hong Kong for 2 weeks at the end of December...

Why would you have to pay tax on Amazon??

I believe if they have a big distribution warehouse/operations in your State you have to..correct me if I am wrong.

Well according to bob, only Frys will have them available in december, amazon was suppose to, but there is no certanty as of now, im hoping the initial statement stands on receiving at least a 100 or so, but its a gamble with amazon atm, i just dont have a choice with frys, so ill wait for amazon.

One thing Im abit worried about is the random compression artifacts Im seeing with some mkvs like repo men 1080.
I see green blocks, pause the movie and go back 30 sec... now they are gone. No artifacts at all with coreavc, so its either a codec or streaming issue with the 550.
I hope this is really fixed in the latest fw.

The network test shows 90Mbps on mine.

I've been VERY pleased with Pete and MCM. The TAG files work great. There has been an issue about time/duration of the movies but I believe this to be a bug with the Neo and not MCM. Apparently Netgear's Tag Tool does not actually put in the TLEN field in the TAG but Pete is including the field. However I find that when a Tag file is present for an mkv file, the Neo reports 0 seconds duration for a movie. Remove the Tag file and the Neo properly reports the duration. I've reported this bug in the private beta forum.

I highly recommend anyone who has purchased the Neo, to download MCM and start getting their tags in order. And I would ask that you purchase the software and support Pete, rather than just downloading the free version. Beside you get a lot more functionality with the licensed version.

It works correctly but for english language movies only (as "éèçÃ*ùêîâ" are replaced by a "?"), and not very usefull for complete structure dvd or br rips (the tag file is not in the correct directory). And the movie length is not loaded in the .tag files.

But this is the only software that works actually. I wish Netgear release a soft for UI management soon.

Just checked the order I placed with Pixmania last night, it's being packed ready for dispatch

I'm confident I'll have it in a few days as I've cancelled all my other preorders

Will do. I have both excitement and trepidation: the former as the media streamer has been a long time coming for me, but the latter because I've never bought something so early out of the gate before. I feel a bit of a beta tester!
