This is a good price. Here at my location it is almost USD 500. This does not even include the cost for sending it back to Fujifilm many times

Will be interesting to see your photos. And you were talking about a 3 months world trip with about 3000 photos. I am really wondering that the camera still works.

With the focus issue. I am not sure if I should say thanks for mentioning it! I had not noticed but now if I look closely with stereophotomaker I can see that the left image is consistently slightly less sharp than the right! I was wondering could this be due to the in camera post processing as the left lens is the dominant one. Is there any way to turn off auto sharpening??

I am not sure if you blame me or a different poster But you should blame Fujifilm. I tried almost everything (ISO, aperture and whatever) to fix this. No way. Fujifilm expects that you use the camera monitor or their display unit and not SPM. So please use the camera normally!!!! At least this was what they told me in an email - perhaps you read the story in my review or better "experience report" I am still not sure why they provide their computer software and TV-out.

I checked the Panasonic Lumix 3D1 - no problems with sharpness and alignment. Only downside there is the stereo separation because the lenses are closer together.
I made 40 pictures with the W3, without any focus issue!
How? I use Aperture mode with F8, so DOF was big enough.
But this work only at sunny days...

Hello

I'm new here and I am a user of Fuji W3
I think it's a very good camera
For video, I have experience, and if you use this unit normally there is no problem
My videos are upgradées 1080p
Of course there are better (Sony and JVC) but it is more expensive
Use on a boat, I'm browser, and it holds up.

Sorry, i think the video quality is just horrible
with this cam. Yes, i know 3D videocams are
more expensive, but those produce watchable
3D videos..

My software to work with the W3 is Vegas 11
My LG TV is passive 47 "and I get to have a positive quality
Against by the pictures that I treat as a slideshow, it is very good
My next purchase will be the Sony camcorder but my regres TD10 is the spacing of the objectives
I'm just a passionate amateur

@relaxman

I tried these aperture settings. Honestly - I think I tried whatever is thinkable It did not change anything. I will try your F8 trick again - but at the moment it is not sunny.

I found out the best setting for me is - off I really gave up already.

@jacques.mariaud

I use Sony Vegas too for my real video cameras. But with what miracle settings do you improve the video quality of this W3 there? Will be the next thing that I will try So far I just can repeat what relaxman says. They are hardly watchable. On top of it the lack of a stabilizer does not add anything to the video quality.

One question. What memory do you use? I used a Kingston 16 GB class 10 and was not able to play back 3D (HD1280) videos on the camera. I always got a read error. But when I copied this file to a 4 GB memory there was no problem with it. I checked the Kingston memory - it has no problems. Of course I formatted it several times. This experience combined with a bad pixel at video recordings did not make me more happy.

With respect to the memory card I use: PNY 32GB Class 10 pro - 20Mbits

No problem reading.

I equipped my W3 with a handful rule some of the problems of stabilization and especially avoid putting your fingers in front goal.

See the attached photo

With Vegas Pro 11

Do the project in 1280x720

Place the clips on the timeline

- Correct Horizontal, Vertical, and Rotation (Auto)

- Complete stabilization with the module "stabilization"

- Make Mp4 Side by side in 2560x720 24 fps

To make my Blu-ray I can travel to 3840x1080p Side by side - 24 fps.

and use Cyberlink PowerDirector 10 to the BR3D compatible with my platinum LG Blu-ray 3D.

I'm an amateur and I want to think out a Fujifilm W (X) in 1080p.

I find the practice W3 and I always with me. I use it as a notepad.

That said for stories I'd rather buy the Sony TD10 malgrés the small gap targets

Re

It would be nice so that its next Fujifilm 3D camera using the AVCHD codec 3D 2.0

I recalls that the W3 to a MJPEG codec 2x1280X720 progressive. 24fps

The Lumix DMC-3D1 is 1080i 50fps in Side by side. Is 2x920x1080i. it's normal that it is better.

@jacques.mariaud

You are talking about the W3 or the W1? In the text you write W3 and on the photo you show the W1. Some people say that the W1 has better picture quality than the W3. But the video should be even worse since it does have the HD1280. Is it not like this?

In respect of Vegas I did the same. I used Vegas version 10 because the stabilizer is better there - at least for me. But it did not really improve the video picture quality in the end. Okay, it is no real video camera but the Lumix 3D1 goes here more in the right direction already. Perhaps a new version of the Fujifilm will fulfill all our dreams. Or perhaps mobile phones will take over this market. The LG Optimus 3D is a first sample but with still a lot of room for improvement.

The Sony TD10 is for sure a better option for video. A friend of mine had one but could not get rid of the sharpness problems and returned it. Same story as my W3. The left lens was not sharp and Sony could not fix it. But when I check the videos of other TD10 cameras on the internet they look okay.

Peterxxx

I speak of but I also W3 W1
The W1 has a definition of 640x480 video, well below the W3 therefore 1280x720

I work a lot more videos in photography.

I also bought the Aiptek IH3 - 1920x1080p 3D Camcorder - the quality here is more than bad - bad encoding to MP4 -

So bummed I'm going back on the sony TD10

With a test to see if the right image is identical to the left image.

Je confirme que pour le W3 image Droite est lus nette que la gauche

Today I have tried your F8 trick (I played around with all possible settings before already). I was on the beach. Could not be more bright but it did not help. This camera is the like the others I had already - I did not use it for a long time because of the problems and now it goes back into the box again. Sadly it is designed as it works.
Peter, if you can't get good photos at the beach, your camera is definitely defective. With their small lenses, these cameras don't do well indoors, but should be able to handle daylight without problems.

Are you covered by lemon laws? Here in California, if a vendor can't fix a problem after several attempts, they are required to replace it free of charge. I got NEC to replace my SuperVHS deck once because they couldn't get the tape tension to remain adjusted.

A bad pixel on the LCD display is usually not covered by warranty, but a bad pixel on a sensor should be. Nikon once replaced my Cool Pix 3100 when its sensor developed a bad pixel.

@dwhite601

I do not know if you know my complete story. But I have camera sample 4 of Fujifilm already. Somehow it just got worse with every one. I can send it there again and just will get one more bad sample. In respect of refund there is not much you can do in my country.

If you do not know my story and you are interested here is the link to it:

http://review-fujifilmfinepixreal3d.weebly.com/

This story there might sound hard but everything there I can prove. And I really had enough.

Honestly - I gave up. This feeling to bring it to the post office, send it to them, wait for a while, pick it up at the post office and take the first disappointing shots again. I had this too many times. And the last camera they sent me I got after my first part at this site. And I really was extremely friendly until the told me I should use the camera "normally". They did not want to talk to me anymore and this was why I started this site. And they really had a chance to do it better with the last replacement camera. But they do not really care. Somehow this last camera experience was insulting to me. So what should I hope for if I send it there again?

Sad to read about your troubles with your camera and replacement cameras. I must say that I haven´t seen the focus issue before you mentioned it either. In comparison to the amazing depth in the images and movies, for me, it is a minor problem. In addition, very few of my pictures are like that, and I didn´t see it on my LG 47 TV. Of course, I think it should be dealt with by the company and improved to the next version.
Hello.......I do hope someone can help me with this problem I have. I have recently bourght a fujifilm w3 3D camera which I bourght at christmas & even though I am pleased with most of the resluts from the camera I am having a few technical problems which I am trying to solve.

I have a Samsung PS50C680 PLASMA 50" 3D TV (series 6) & Ive tried connecting my W3 3D camera to my TV through a HDMI cable & whilst all the pictures taken outside are really good & some outstanding, all the 3D pictures taken inside have an extremely huge amount of crosstalk to the point in which you cannot view them for very long without it causing dizziness or head aches. Now I am wondering if there is a way of fixing this? I have read on this forum that there is a ARC HDMI PORT in which it needs to be attached to. But I cannot find where this is located on the TV? Can anyone help me here? or is there anything else I can try, maybe with the settings or something? or maybe there is some software to cure it? Any help to solve this issue I am having would be greatly appreciated.....My 3D pics taken outside are great, but unfortunately the mojority of the pics have been taken inside?

Please help me with this problem...........
Do the "indoor" pictures have subjects that are much closer to the camera than the "outdoors" pictures - any subject less than 5 feet away will have a problem, given the wide io distance of the W3.

Posting a sample picture that has this problem would also be helpful.
I only have cross talk problems viewing the pictures on my Samsung PS50C680 PLASMA 50" 3D TV (series 6)......Ive heard that there is an ARC HDMI PORT to plug it into to prevent this but Im not sure whether thats to another model of TV.
Ive also heard that adjusting the TV brightness/cell settings can also prevent it......Ive not tried that option yet.

But the distance of the pics is about the same for both outside pics & inside, but the crosstalk is incredibly strong......a real shame considering how good the outside pics have turned out. Ive also heard that the inside pics may have crosstalk due to the flash - which would make sense considering the outside pics have no flash - for obvious reasons.

Hello
I think the problems you have is not the knowledge of files accepted by your TV

The fujifilm w3 is a very good camera. MPO files can be tailored to be broadcast by all TV 3D.

Use the software that allow

dare and made a slideshow with:
Magix Video Deluxe MX, Sony Vegas, Cyberlink PowerDirector 10 + / - $ 80

Render in 720p (1280x720) 25 or 50 fps or 24 fps 1980x1080 and above in 50% Side by Side

To adapt to the country

I never had no problem on my LG 47 "passive

I took you from me escuser for the translation I used google.

Above all, do not despair, espérimentez,.

Yes, flash. That is a difference, and makes for some horrible artifacts in 3D. Has nothing to do with your HDMI port or TV.

Don't use flash. Again, had you posted the pictures, we could better diagnose what the problem is.

Jacques: "I think the problems you have is not the knowledge of files accepted by your TV."

No, "Jason" said the MPO files with *outside* pictures look fine on the TV. It's the indoor flash pictures only that are the problem, so it's not the TV or port. It's likely the flash.

So, try indoor pictures *without* flash and see if you get the same problem.

Excuse me, I misunderstood
I'll try to do and see on my TV LG passive

@maxlve

First I could not check your video - it is private and so blocked. Below I put two links because I do not want to write everything again what I put on the web already. Below what I found out. But perhaps someone has a better idea.

At the link below look at the text (press show more) at this video to see my experience with YT and my FinePix REAL 3D W3. I did not check YT again recently. This was my experience at the time when I uploaded my videos not so long ago:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yoaVnfAi3vM

At this link here you can find more about what I found out when using this camera with video and perhaps there is some useful information:

If this link above does not work anymore
since I want to change the site structure as soon as I have time please go to the main page and look for the new video part in the main menu. The link is

Hi everyone !

I'm new here and stoppped by after searching the web for a peculiar problem with my Fujii W3D : You refer to it as a sharpness problem on left lens but i rather say it's a kind of smudged area.I have tried several F.Stop settings ( And as expected it's more noticeable at smaller F.Stop numbers ) and also tweaked with shutter speed....... It's easy to get one finger or both ib front of lens due to camera's less than poor ergonomics....The smudged area remains.
I love stereoscopy and used several 35mm equipment in the past, from twin lens vintage cameras to split beam attachments, when i herad of a digital camera doing stereo in one step i tought it was to good to be true!!...Until dissapointment hit me as a runaway train !
I will soon upload some samples.

All the best folks !

Hi Leo,

I would call myself lucky if only a small spot would be distorted ;-) I solved the problem that way that after creating my website (see links before) I never used my (brand new) camera again.

I checked out your photo gallery at your links. Really great photos. I doubt that the Fuji 3D camera has the quality standard that you need. I checked the Panasonic 3D camera. If you can live with less settings options and a smaller 3D effect it is hard to beat but still not perfect for high quality shots. For your photos you should take two good 2D cameras and create 3D photos with them. Then you even can change the stereo base as needed.

Hi Peterxxx,

Thanks for visiting my photo sites it helps keeping the "On air" ! And, of course i'm very glad you liked both ! It was indeed a great disapointment not having clear 3D shots, i don't bother W3 pictures quality is not superb, for 4R prints to be viewed with my vintage stereo viewers it would be good enough.
I can live with less settings, in fact the only ones i need is aperture priority mode, + /- EV compensation and a good white balance options menu.
Do you have a Pana 3D ? Are you satisfyed with it ? At a quick glance the very close lenses may lead to a conclusion that the 3D effect would be not very much effective, unless it's possible to focus foreground at least at 25 or 35 inches distance.
I had enough of "Cha - Cha" so i'm not considering dancing anymore or having a two camera rig.

All the best !

Leo

"At a quick glance the very close lenses may lead to a conclusion that the 3D effect would be not very much effective, unless it's possible to focus foreground at least at 25 or 35 inches distance."

This conclusion is wrong.

There is a whole thread on the Panasonic 3D1, with 3D videos and pictures. The 3D is very effective, particularly for video. I have both the 3D1 and the W3. I have stopped using the latter (mainly because its video is truly awful)..
