So I picked up a new Yamaha RX-V2065 about a week and a half ago when I added a Rotel amp to my system because my old receiver (Onkyo TX-SR605) didn't have preouts. There is a local store that had a new RX-V2065 that I picked up pretty cheap. Now I'm having a few issues and am considering returning it in lieu of another Onkyo. I'm Using a Mac Mini for a HTPC and it uses an optical out, well the Yamaha has an issue when it switches between DSP modes, or when you dont use it for a minute and it makes a "pop" out of the speakers. This is extremely annoying, and bothersome enough that I'm considering ditching it. The same store has a Onkyo TX-NR708 that I could pick up for about the same price. I'm wondering is anyone has experience with both and their thoughts on them. I did some research online and I guess this is a known problem with this receiver when using an optical in. I could take it to a service center but then I'm out a receiver for at least two weeks. I always had good luck with the Onkyo I did have, and this is my first piece of Yamaha gear so I'm definitely not partial to it but it has been kind of nice to use. Any help would be great.
