Pc12-nsd or legend?

Should i keep my b stock pc12-nsd or get an Epik legend? Room is 17x12x9. The nsd has TONS of head room in here. Gain is at 1/4 and reciever level is at -7. Only thing is i miss that tight sealed sound i had with my old sub. Dont get me wrong, the nsd sounds very good with music, just not as good as i would like. It does feel like it has the power to destroy my room with movies though.

Seems like the legend would have that great sound im looking for and still have some low end for movies.

What do you guys think?

Well I think you should hold on to the PC 12, the Legend which if is as good as the Empire will be a great sub but its not been released yet and as far as I know no one has reviewed or heard it. So its probably alittle premature to get rid of your sub now and get one thats now even out yet. But IMO in that size of room adding a second PC 12 wouldn't be a bad idea.

Im not sure how a second nsd would help my problem with the musicality of the sub. Im not going with two.

Problem is, theres only a little more time left for me to return the nsd so i wont get to compare them side by side.

I know but they are $200 more.

The Rythmik will offer some "future proofing". Worth saving up for or stretching your budget, imo.

You're not happy with the SVS, so that only leaves you with the Epik. Give the Epik's a shot.

The best advice i have heard, simple and direct.
Look at the big picture 1, 12" driver vs 2 12" drivers. ? Based on epiks track record i dont think you could do wrong.

Its funny that people think that a sealed sub is better over a ported or vice versa. Maybe the reason for the poor music performance is the room, bad location? If a ported sub has a flat freq response and a seal sub has a flat response they should play the same material just as good. If you have a ported sub corner loaded and it sounds boomy how is replacing it with a sealed sub going to help? Corner loading a sub is usually what causes the boomy ness not the sub. But my earlier opinion of adding a second sub is to help even out the freq response. So if theres only one location for putting the sub and its, from a freq response a bad location how is going from ported to sealed going to help?

What is "musicality" so you want artificial midbass? you want a huge peak at 70hrz?

Gt. I never said the nsd sounded poor. It sounds very good actually. Its just different. Yes it is in a corner but thats where it sounds best. If i move it out it starts sounding loose. I have had several subs in this spot with the same results.

It just seems to me that sealed subs have a cleaner sound. I dont think it wise to say that as long as you have a flat frequency response they should sound the same. Im confused by this. I think theres more to a subs sound than fr.

This is turning into a sealed vs ported thing so im going to ask a different question.

Do you guys think That the legend should perform on par with the pc12-nsd based just on the specs and the performance of its big brother?

The rythmik does not have as much slam with the really low stuff but it more than makes up for it wih its clarity. The pc12 sounded great but it came down to me liking the clear sealed sound of the rythmik better. It also seemed to blend with my Aperion setup better. If i was not so critical with my music i would have kept the SVS.
