could be dust bunnies like a receiver gets.
blow the headphone hole out, canned air , straw

Yeah I've done a full reset, hooked it up to internet hoping it would update a new firmware or something but it was current, so only thing left is to use canned air in it... I'm thinking its done for audio wise. Right now my solution is the 2.1 klipsch pro media pc speakers hooked into it, which isn't bad but would rather have those in my computer room rather than hooked up to this bedroom tv that I was completely fine with just using the tv audio

I've searched this issue online and it seems that a lot of LG owners have run into this problem where their audio is locked bc its in headset mode with no solution other than a new board which is about the cost of the tv

It doesn't have to be a "bad board" to cause this issue. It still could be a connection problem or the headphone jack itself is indicating to the board that something is plugged into it. . . so then the speaker will not work.

Once question. . have you been recently or even ever plugged anything into the headphone jack before this problem occurred? If you did, then there is a chance the jack somehow got stressed or broken internally and could be repaired.

Yeah it was working fine, then one day I plugged in some headphones into the jack, unplugged them, and noticed the next day there was no audio. Sure enough the audio was stuck in "headset mode". I started taking the screws out of the back of the television last night, but halfway through just said wtf am I doing? lol works fine with the klipsch but still this makes for overkill for a nice tv that I really just use for tv at night

Well, it's possible that when you plugged in the headphones it stressed the connector and now it thinks something is still plugged on the jack. Some headphone plugs are not really standard 3.5mm size or have an off sized piece at the end of the plug which will put a lot of internal force on the headphone jack. Or, it may have cracked a solder joint to the circuit board.

Yeah, it is overkill to run and external speaker system. You could try this. .. Take a Q-tip and cut one end off and try plugging it in and out of the headphone jack a few times. It should be about the correct size to fit the jack. It may or may not clear whatever is in there. I've done this to clean headphone jacks on old audio gear so I don;t have to disassemble them.

Well I stuck a Qtip in it after cutting one end off, nothing. Then I took a wooden Shish kebab skewer and stuck it wayyyyyyy into the headphone jack. That thing doesn't end haha but maybe 3 inches in a felt something resisting the skewer that could be bypassed. Anyway didn't work. Oh well I guess
