can't check firmware version on DVP5990 after FW upgrade

On my Phillips DVP5990 (actually 5992, but I think they're identical) I just upgraded the firmware to version 4.1.1. I now can't seem to check the version number of the firmware (by opening the tray, going to the Setup/General menu and pressing 1379 on the remote). I also can't display the BIN filename by pressing 55 on the remote.

Does anyone know if there's a new procedure for checking the FW version? Or does it sound like I'm doing something wrong?

Where did you see a version 4.1.1?

On the Philips support page for the 5990, the latest version is identified only as "31," referring to the last two digits of the version number that you get when you check the version as you described. I just checked my 5990 and found it has version 37.08.51.27.

I'll upgrade mine and see what happens... hm, their download server must be down. I agreed to the firmware license, and got my Mac's prompt to save the file, but then nothing happened. No download. I'll try again later.

4.1.1 is a modded firmware, and I highly recommend it.
