Now wait just a #$%#@%$& minute. Two pages back and no updates since the 19th? What in the name of everything good and holy is going on? To fricking busy in the new pool? I can understand that, but you could at least post that you're too busy to post.

Oh, and congrats on the big graduation ceremony. They really do grow up very fast.

I know you all have been missing me. But I have been busy working in the bar and working on the pool deck. The pool deck is a loong story that includes me digging my own footing holes to the contractor just disappearing. More on that later. But, for now here are some pics of the bar being drywalled:

Drywall?!?!

I thought the open stud walls was like, you know, your design "motif"! Now you start adding pools and walls and benches and go all up-market on us. Before you know it, guests will be required to wear ties and throw up outside!

Sheesh!

P.S. Happy 4th, my friend!
Brian things are really taking shape in there. Nice work. Sorry to hear about your contractor misfortunes. I decided to build my entire deck which wraps all the way around my 24' pool and connects to my main deck all because contractors mainly suck..lol. It was a ton of work. Even more than this theater project as it was MUCH hotter out there than it is in the basement.

Yea, Brian is not dead! Long live Brian!

Nice looking drywall you got there. I too would now require ALL of your guests to throw up outside now, but far away from the pool obviously!

I have had pretty good luck with contractors so far, however I figure it is just about time for me to have issues with something. I have decided that contractors are just like goldie locks. They don't want anything too big or too small, they want that job that is "Just right". So it is kind of like a marriage of sorts.

Looking forward to seeing those pool decking photos. I'm assuming they will all be of your wife as she is the "worker" round your parts and your the photographer.

RTROSE

I bet that stuff happens all the time in the big city! Just another day right?

Do you know who the model was. I can't tell anything other than she appears to be pretty tall even without her heels.

No idea who the model was..but she was very pretty and very tall.

Yeah, stuff like that does kinda happen everyday. Sometimes it is a move shoot or a model shoot, sometimes it is a guy shitting in his hat.

What size kettle is your popcorn popper? I bought a small tabletop one that we wore out over the summer and need to upgrade. I have been looking at the 6 oz and 8 oz but not sure which one to get. I need to get it upgraded quick before football season as i've found out that my bar is the new football party place.

It is the 8oz version. One of the advantages of these kettle style makers is that is does not take long to make more. So, if the 8oz is not for you then 6oz is good because you could always make 2 or 3 batchs in a short amount of time.

Thanks, the 8 oz is what I was thinking but wanted some reassurance. My last one may not of even been a 4 oz kettle and after about 50 bags of popcorn in a month it doesn't work well anymore. I think I will go with the 8 oz as I'd rather be too big than not big enough again. I'm still between buying one with the cart or just buying the popper itself and building a cabinet to sit it on that will match the rest of my bar. decisions decisions.

Good call. If you go with the 8 oz, no one says you have to fill it up all the way either if you wanted to make a smaller batch.

The model I have (cart) can be either or. The top half comes off and can sit on the counter if I so choose. Until I am ready to purchase Ms. Pac Man machine, I have nothing for that corner so, the cart works out.

Hello everyone!! Hope all your summers have been awesome! Mine was very cool. I enjoyed my new pool, and we went on a vacation to North Carolina....during Hurricane Irene. Why? Because we are nuts.

No, truth be told we paid for the vacation, and even tho we got the insurance, you only get your money back for those days where there is a mandatory evacuation. So while Irene was heading North, we headed South to meet her head on.

I am kidding. We headed SouthWest to Winston-Salem, NC...4 hours west of the coast to wait out the storm.

CLICK HERE TO READ ALL ABOUT IT BECAUSE I AM TOO LAZY TO MAKE ANOTHER POST AND TRANSFER ALL THE PICS

Glad to hear you are still alive and willing to come back here and keep us all updated. I know all to well about the travel insurance as we had to use it a few years back during a trip to Florida during hurricane season. We came out of it pretty well except for the airlines they were a %$&#^ to deal with but good to have as we would have been out everything otherwise.

RTROSE
