Hooking up sub

First off, new to the forums...so hi all!

Just picked up my 1st surround sound system and need a little help setting up the sub. My system is:

Onkyo TX-SR608
Klipsch Quintet IV 5.1
Klipsch SW-450

I need to know if I should be using one or both of the pre-outs on the receiver, as well as one or both of the line inputs on the sub? If both are needed, would I then need two RCA cables, or a Y-adapter.

Sorry for the noob questions, any help is appreciated. Oh, and I'm trying to decide between a blue jeans cable or just a much cheaper alternative on monoprice. Suggestions?

Just plug a single RCA jack into the rear of your receiver in the jack labeled Sub-Woofer (it also dubles as Pre-Out Left so there must be something to set in your setup menu) and connect to the left input of the sub.

Monoprice cables are fine and good quality.
