HTIB + BLURAY combo under $500

hey guys,
so im looking specifically for a HTIB that include a blu-ray player.
One i have been looking at is the LG LHB535. I heard that feature wise and everything it was solid, but the sound quality on the other hand was sub par. Are there any others that include a blu-ray player that are comparable in price? I am also looking at the onkyo s3300, although it does not have a blu-ray player, if u add one it would still be under 500. Thanks.

The Onkyo HT-S3300 is $300 and I have seen cheap low quality Blu-Ray players for $70.

Personally I would spend money for a more feature rich player like the Sony BDP-S370 $150

in terms of sound quality, the s3300 > LG 535?
Feature wise I know the LG kills it, but I guess a feature rich Blu-Ray player could do some of the same stuff right?

Ok so when the LG bluray player fails have fun replacing everything

All in one components are not what to purchase as they are disposable only and can not be improved on.

The Sony BDP-370 has almost the same features of the LG

Go with Onkyo and separate Blu-Ray

all right thanks, but what do you think about the PS3 as a blu-ray player? I could get a cheap slim ps3 off ebay and i think it has a lot of the same media capabilities + can play games...

ALso, i see on the amazon site that the S5300 is only 50 dollars more than the 3300. Does the 5300 support linear pcm? If so, i guess the 5300 is the better choice in terms of price/worth.

if you can spend the extra money on the 5300 get that. And the PS3 is one of the best blu-ray players thats what I use

And the 5300 and 3300 support linear pcm

alright thanks for all the help.
I think I'm going to go for the 5300, and a slim ps3. Would the wire that comes with the system be good enough? or do I need to buy some like 16 gauge? I think the rear speakers will be only like 10 feet out.

the wire included with the system will work, but personally I would get some 16 ga. if I were doing the install.

even if i only need like 10 feet? Would it be overkill? Wire is cheap though, just wondering logistics.

for the trouble of running by a big box home store, I would just get 25' of 16 ga. and not obsess about it. There is always something else you will need from a home store anyway.
