** Lighted Wireless KB/Mouse options **

Hi everyone!

I'm looking to get a new keyboard/mouse combo for my HT. It obviously has to be wireless, but just as important, lighted. There does not seem to be too many out there, at least from what I've searched recently.

What is everyone here using? My previous KB/mouse remote no longer works, so I'm looking for a new one. The one thing my prior unit didn't have was a back-light, essential in a HT.

Thanks in advance!

PS: Just so I'm clear, by "combo", I mean the KB has an integrated mouse....

By mouse integrated with kb I assume you mean a touchpad or trackball of somekind? Kinda hard to have an actual mouse on a keyboard.

That is going to make it pretty difficult for you I think.

If we forget about the integrated mouse, Microsoft did make a BT keyboard and mouse set, the Wireless Entertainment Desktop 8000, but it has since been discontinued. The keyboard in that set was indeed backlit. However t wasn't cheap and to get one even used these days it's a rare find and will cost you $150-$200 for the set. You can get the 7000 version which is nearly identical for much cheaper but the difference was the keyboard in the 7000 wasn't backlit (and I think the mouse was not rechargeable as well), so that rules that out.

Other than that I can't really think of any, maybe someone else can suggest something...

Logitech is coming out with a backlit wireless keyboard, no mouse functions though. .

Come on, I can't believe that going into 2011 there isn't a lighted wireless kb/mouse all-in-one that people here recommend?

I have seen a few but wanted to see what members here are using. They very so much in shape that I'm sure there are pros/cons to each design. Some may be easier to type on, but may be harder to hold or something like that.

Anyway, I have seen the devices below. Anyone have/used one of these, or have something different/better ???????

This one says it has backlit "media keys"...does this imply that those are the ONLY illuminated keys?

Please only reply if you have something to add regarding a lighted wireless KB/Mouse All-In-One as that is the purpose of this thread.

Thanks!

PS: Just found out the answer to one of my questions above regarding the backlit function of the last item :
"...Backlight doesn't light up the keyboard, just the Remote functions. "

I will probably just go with the new Logitech board and a decent mouse. Until Logitech makes a trackball I've decided that they are pointless. I've tried a couple trackball equipped keyboards and they suck.

Only if you get rid of the hideous font and color in your post. I cant even hardly read it using the Forum default color scheme.

I have a Rii copy cat, it has worked great for me, I have heard complaints of people needing to remove and reinstall the USB dongle to get it to work coming out of standby. I have not had this problem with mine, but I do not use it a lot. I mostly use my Microsoft remote. The keyboard is a little small so if you will be doing a lot of typing I would get a larger keyboard. The track pad works good if you like track pads, I prefer a mouse roller, but I was reading that most are not made well and become an irritant very quickly. Overall I am very pleased with this little thing.

I have the rii and like it, as for the iPazzPort you posted look for the v3 it looks about 1000% better key layout.

THX for your off topic opinion. It means a lot. Font stays as well as the color. I use the dark color scheme and the font color works well with it. Oh well.....
