Thanks. You may be right about the 3D source--I know any 3D I watch from Youtube is pretty bad. However, any 3D from Bluray, Directv, or streaming is pretty darn good on this TV for my eyes.

Once I discovered the 3D video adjustments on the LX and my blu-ray player, it got even better!

Some more good news--Sony added CinemaNow to our LX900 streaming video apps menu ! I just saw it today on the video menu ( you have to scroll down a bit to find it--just after the Style.com app). Thanks Sony!

P.S. Can we also have Vudu on the LX900 too ?

source material is key. last years football was not "unwatchable" but ghosting was real bad in certain views. much improved this year and available content is growing. i expect 3D content will continue to improve as screen size increases. sony has been pretty good with release of fw updates for the LX900 and 3D too.

LBJ2, just curious what adjustments did you make on the LX900 to improve the 3D video ??

Hello. I was referring to the 3D menu itself. When I first bought this TV, I didn't realize I was able to adjust the 3D effect or 3D glasses brightness. Depending upon the 3D content these adjustments can be dramatic--enabling that "reach into your room" effect.

Thanks LBJ2, I know I have tweaked my settings and am quite satisfied.

Check your 3D Sony Experience App on the LX900. Looks like Sony has loaded a few more 3D movie clips/trailers to include several from the latest Harry Potter film. Enjoy

These samples look great compared to some other sampled 3D clips. Hope they provide more!

Anyone have their tv turn off then back on again by itself?

No issues with anything on this set. I did have an On/Off issue with a Samsung LNT4069 but it wound up being the STB (Direct)

It has happened to me, once or twice. It has not happened in months.

I forgot about that one, thanks.

I also have the setting turned off and it has happened three times in the last 6 months. Kinda irritating.

Hello. Try turning off the Presence Sensor on the TV. When the sensor is set to Medium, or High the TV will turn itself off if it does not detect any movement in its field-of-view--even if you are sitting in front of the TV but not moving e.g. asleep or sitting very still for several minutes. (I keep mine set to Low and that seems to work out fine for me )

Same here, as far as how often it occurs . When it happens my wife always blames me! You always worry of a problem because the warranty is only a year. To think that the XBR was always Sony's top and had the better warranty.

I truly love the picture quality on this set, I have the 60" version (fully calibrated) and can not see it getting any better. Only negative is the sound quality, which forced me to use a sound bar.

Ha!
No TV I've ever seen has anything but crappy audio!

I just talked my brother-in-law into buying one and it's happening to him! Presence sensor is off and it's happened to me twice before shutting it off. Time will tell.

Hmmmm. My Lx900 has never turned off unexpectedly nor have I heard of this from others over the last year or so. I wonder if there is some other setting that needs to be set as well...I have my Presence Sensor set to "mild"

Other settings to check on the home menu under PREFERENCES/ECO:
Power Saving : Off
Idle TV Standby: Off
Auto Shut Off: See the note-I leave this setting "On"

Check your setting for " Distant Alert" too. ( this kicks in if a small child is standing too close to the TV screen)

I agree--these new TVs are so slim and trim I doubt there is much room to include any type of quality sound/speakers. I would recommend an external sound system for any of these new slim LED models Sony/Panasonic/Samsung/LG/etc. Even the most modestly priced sound bar will provide a better sound experience ( than the internal speakers) to match the excellent PQ of these new LEDs.

This TV was Sony's XBR or top-of-the-line for 2010 ( now discontinued) . I think the TV has excellent 2D and 3D PQ and even though I paid way too much for the set in 2010, I still very happy with it.

Have to agree. Bought a 52" for $1999.00 with a free PS3 and I love it. This tv is right up there with the NX I just received.
