I saw some vinyle planks at home depot(1x4), I think the stuff is called veranda. It is very straight, and of course being vinyle will not warp. The only comcern is its somewhat flexable, more so than poplar planks. The flex is on the 1" side so laying flat will not flex. I was wondering if anyone has used this stuff? Does the frame have to be pretty stiff? Also, I was thinking of just mounting the laminate right onto the wall directly with no frame. My wall is pretty straight but it does bow ou just a bit where the mud was sanded between the two sheets of drywall. Its not much, but i do see a little gap when I place a stright egde across the wall. Do you guys tink it would be ok to mount it directly to the wall?
