These models do support checkerboard (same at DMP-BDT350/300).

It appears that the BDT105 model will be the "club" version since it includes the HDMI cable.

One item I wish this player had is a USB port in the rear to plug the optional wireless adapter into - the only way to use the wireless adapter is putting it into the USB port in the front panel which means leaving the font panal open all the time - to me this looks sloppy and requires the owner to remove the wireless adapter when the owner wants to use a USB stick to play content.

I picked one up at frys almost a week ago. DVD performance appears WORSE than a panasonic 65. gui is a little more refined than the 65. anyone else have one?

Yeesh, what loser. The obvious model would have been a 3-D equivalent of the 65, but I guess they couldn't hold down the cost enough.

can't really explain it. i would have thought the same too. i am guessing this player is destined as the freeby/throw-in package player for the gt25s and vt25s panasonic will be trying to unload come this holiday season

I ssw the DMP-BDT105 at Costco yesterday hooked up to a Panasonic 46" plasma display. The setup was much better than the Samsung display that Costco also has.

Ok, I purchased this to playback 3D on a Samsung HL-T5087S..

Keep an eye on Amazon.. I got this BRAND NEW for 75.00 ( I guess it was an error from the company, but they honored the price ) Because of the low price listed, I paid the extra 49.00 to have it shipped overnight. So ordered on a Sunday, I had it in hand on Tuesday morning, for less then $125.00!

WORKS FLAWLESSLY!!

This saved me a lot of headache and aggrovation.

using the IR transmitter and glasses found on Ebay from 3DTVCorp ( I got 4 glasses and the IR for 165 shipped ) Yeah the glasses are ugly as hell, but Im not out for style, only performance.

The only thing I do not like about this player is the fact that it does not read MPG4 video. avi yes, and perfect, but no MPG4...oh well cant win'em all

Having recorded HOURS of TV on my computer, now I just put a couple dozen movies on a 64MB thumb drive and Im set to entertain the kids for hours ( gotta love having Dora and Mickey mouse Club recorded and ripped )



Load times are rather good, from power on to ready to play in less then 45 seconds ( and that includes it auto switching the TV to proper input, etc. )

Network firmware updates were smooth and fast. I have it CAT5 irect to router, since they are in the same location just diff shelves.

Netflix and pandora stream without error, and it has played back just about every format I threw at it. ( all but the MPG4 )

The only drawback is I use a harmony remote, and there is much to manually program into the harmony to access all the features the original remote can do.... the harmony by default programming gives BARE BONE options programmed.

Overall, I am very pleased with purchase, now the family can watch 3d without dropping 3G

I read somewhere that the DMP-BDT100 does not support analog audio out. I have an older receiver that does not have HDMI. I'm going to connect the BD directly to my plasma tv via HDMI and audio out to my receiver via optical cable. Will I not be able to listen to CD's through my receiver with this player?

The player has two channel audio out plus you can use the optical cable for your CD's.

Can anyone tell me if the BDT100 will allow you to set checkerboard output pattern and pass that through an HDMI 1.3 receiver? I know the "real" 3D modes require HDMI 1.4, but I don't want to replace my perfectly good HDMI 1.3 receiver just yet, and since my Samsung HL61A750 only supports checkerboard anyways, being pre HDMI 1.4, I'm hoping the player won't balk at passing the checkerboard through a 1.3 receiver.

To answer your question though.. I have my setup run through my receiver, into my TV, and since everything ( receiver, TV, 360 ) BUT the player is 1.3, it works fine.

I have the player, Comcast HD DVR, and my 360 all in my receivers HDMI Inputs, and the output going into the 3Da-1, then into HDMI 3 of my EDID hacked Samsung HL-T5087S. All 3 pass their 3D signals perfectly, and its only a matter of switching the 3Da-1 mode to match the actual source ( ie the cable, blu-ray or 360's 3d format )

I have the BD60 and have been pretty happy with it. I'm thinking about upgrading to 3D and considered the BDT100 but some of the previous posts have me worried, saying the BDT100's performance is sub-par compared to players like the BD65.

Now that a few of you have yours (BDT100) and have had a chance to use them, could you give some additional input on performance? I have an HDMI 1.4 ready receiver, so that's not an issue with the single output the BDT100 provides, but I would like some comparative info relative to image quality, upconverting, GUI, etc.

Hi, picked up a BDT 100 player yesterday (oh, and a 50" VT25) and since it's not connected to the internet, I downloaded, decompressed, and wrote the file to a CD-R (not CD-RW) as per Panasonic instructions.

When I put the CD in the player, it gives an error message, something in the lines of "disc not supported". I can't get the firmware update.

If anyone can help.... greatly appreciated!

I posted this in the other thread, but thought I would post it here as well seeing as my issue relates to both the Blu-ray player and TV.

Does anyone have any advice on limiting the amount of banding on the VT25? I also have the BDT-100 Blu-ray player. When the player's 24p option is set to on I notice a lot of banding whether the TV is set at 96hz or 60hz. I was watching Deadwood season 1 on Blu-ray (with THX mode enabled) and could not believe how bad the banding was. The banding literally made it unwatchable and ruined the viewing experience. It takes away at what this TV can really do well and this is bothersome.

I then went into the Blu-ray player options and turned 24p to off and I no longer noticed any banding of any sorts. I do plan on getting a pro calibration done, but not until about April, but even a calibration probably will not help that much with the banding.

Hi guys.. A comparison question in terms of which is the Best Blue Ray player.

The reason why I ask, is a retailer told me my PS3 was not as good as the DMP-BDT-105 for 3D and it does not play true Master audio. I have a RX-A1000 AVR.

So the question is, which player is better all around for sound, 3D playability and quality of video.

Does this player pass a Checkerboard Signal through an HDMI 1.3 A/V Receiver including the high resolution sound. I have an Onkyo TX-SR805 A/V Receiver and a Samsung HL61A750 HDTV that accepts a 3D Checkerboard Signal. I am currently able to watch 3D from my DirecTv HR24-500 using a Mitsubishi 3DA-1 Checkerboard Converter and a Gefen HDMI Detective that is programed with the EDID from a Mitsubishi DLP HDTV. I am assuming that you can pass the Checkerboard Signal through a HDMI 1.3 but A/V Receiver directly from the Panasonic DMP-BDT100 but I would like a confirmation from someone who has done it. I do not plan on using the 3DA-1 / Gefen combination if I buy this player since that would seem to be redundant. Thanks.

It makes a good deal of difference what burning program is used to burn your firmware update. I know I used Imageburn unsuccessfully once (I've since found out how to use it with success), but usually use my RecordNow DX program which always seems to work. The message "disk not supported" is a pretty sure sign that's the case. When the disk is pulled in, you should get a "LOADING" message. If you have another burning program, try using it, or google "burning Panasonic firmware updates", since there are a number of suggestions on this topic elsewhere.

Not sure what you're referring to as "banding", but you shouldn't get ANY banding effects with the BDT-100 switched to 24p. Keep in mind, your display must be capable of 24p operation! If it isn't, the results are not predictable, but you won't get a usable picture. Also, it may be 24p capable, but it might need to be switched to 24p mode via a menu, so make sure it is if you want to use 24p mode on the BD player (96 or 60 Hz have nothing to do with 24p mode, and are refresh rates - a multiple of 24, i.e. 96 or 120 Hz, would be required for 24p mode operation, however).

The Blu-ray player came bundled with the Panasonic VT25 HDTV. The TV is capable of accepting a 24p signal. I should have been more clear, but the Panasonic VT25 HDTV is set to except either 48hz, 60hz or 96hz. To get 24p the correct way the TV needs to be set at 96hz which is what I have it set to as well as the Blu-ray player 24p option set to be enabled. The TV gets way too much banding artifacts (especially on walls and when moving from light to dark). Turning the TV's option to 60hz does not help any at all, but if I turn 24p to off on the Blu-ray player then I do not notice the color banding. This is a huge disappointment.

I read reviews on the VT25 before purchasing and I did read about the banding artifacts this TV has, but I had no idea it would be this terrible.
