I am in the market for a new camcorder and would really appreciate some assistance.
My main priorities are;
1) The highest quality available
2) A consumer or prosumer small size camcorder
3) HDD or flash memory
4) Compatible with Final cut studio or express
I will be mainly using the camera for family footage etc, but shooting a couple of weddings for friends.
I would like to be able to expand it's functionality by adding an external microphone etc.
I like to have some manual features (focus etc) but don't need everything to be manual.
Ideally I looking to spend between $1000 and $1300 though obviously it depends on what is available.
I currently have a JVC (MGZ 50) I think.
