List is $399 I think...so its probably closer to that than to $280. Did you actuall saw it listed for that price for a OEM lamp?

No, I just did a quick Google 'shopping' search, and saw some averages... I then saw the price was higher after posting. $400 sounds more like it.

That's about what I thougth....original OEM lamps tend to be in the $300-$400 range..It's probably a good profit center for the mfgrs. .I won't buy a generic lamp, though.

Someone mentioned in another jvc thread about a coupon on the jvc site for about 30% off the list price. Go with the original to be safe.

Could not find it, probably expired.....

I don't know if its just me...but I kind of feeling the the hrs clock on this PJ is running kind of fast...I have it in normal (low) lamp but it seems to be going to fast...Anybody having or had this experience..Otherwise happy so far with the PJ..much better contrast and image deph..some blurr in NBA games but acceptable.....

I have a question. It's my first look at more than an entry model projector. The hd250 is lower in lumen compare to a lot of entry projector. Should I ignore this. Also interested in your opinion between this and the w7000, ignoring the 3d.

The bigger the screen, the more lumens you need.

So, screen size and gain, what content you watch mostly (sports, gaming, movies?), ambient light, etc.

Then there is personal taste. Do you prefer your movies to look like they do in a commercial theater? Or like on a tv/plasma (very bright)??

The W7000 is gonna be brighter for sure, but it's contrast and blacks will also be way worse vs the HD250. An issue for movies, but not so much for sports.

Also keep in mind that while JVCs spec lower for max lumens than many entry level projectors, they spec higher for lumens at the best calibrated setting - which is what you want to be using for movie watching (perhaps not as critical for sports, gaming).

By all means, ignore all publsihed specs, especailly frommost other manufacturers. A new JVC HD250 is extremely bright when combined with the Da-lite HP screen; actually would need a filter. For something like the RS20 which is less bright, my eyes are OK with it. My screen is 106" and sitting about 15 ft away while the pj is about 2 ft in front of me on a coffee table.

I'm sensitive to RBE so would not know how the w7000 is.

Forgive me if this has been answered, but does the HD250d do 1080P at true multiples of the original frame rate? Anyone know how the picture quality compares to the Epson 6500UB?

Projector Reviews does a good job and they have reviewed both of these.

Epson is better for viewing in ambient light situations, the JVC better for light controlled situation... What are your typical viewing conditions?

If you are viewing in best mode in terms of brightness, 250 wins all the way. I had both the JVC and an Epson 8500. The 250 was a considerable upgrade from the 8500 IMO.
And you don't have to worry about dust blobs with the JVC!

Is the HD250 a big step up from a Sony VPL-HW15?

I'm thinking of the B Stock, but don't know if it is a worthwhile upgrade from my current VPL-HW15.

Otherwise, I shoudl sell my HW15 and move to the X30.

Just got my b stock of this receiver from Avs today. I thought my previous mount I used with my optoma would work but its nowhere close. Can anyone recommend me a good cheap mount or have instructions for building my own? Search isn't helping much unfortunately.

The previous mount I had is about 12inches from the ceiling but my last projector didn't have any lense shift

I moved from a HW15 to the RS10/HD350 (other than chassis, same as HD250), no contest in terms of brightness, sharpness and contrast. The Sony is quieter and the color a bit more natural (personal taste).

I have the opportunity to purchase a refurb JVC250 for $1399 or a preowned 8700ub with only 73 hours on it for $1000. I watch only in a completely dark TREATED room and only movies on Bluray. 100-110" screen. Which projector would be the better one?
