Pioneer just announced their first two Blu-ray players supporting 3D.
BDP-430 - November 2010

BDP-LX54 - December 2010

Release slated for Q4 2010. So we have a few months of speculation before hopes are definitely dashed and they turn out to be run-of-the-mill Pionarps.
Not much information has been released yet. Some of the information below might change. Both models seem to share the same main board. Output layout is different from previous 2010 models, so it might be more than a minor upgrade to the BDP-330/BDP-LX53 units.
Known details so far.
The European LX range is similar to the American Elite range, but has a different appearance.
BDP-LX54 adds the following to the entry-level BDP-430

Known details so far.
- Made in China.
- Single HDMI 1.4a
- 3D support added.
- iPhone control app.
- No analogue audio out. (Apart from stereo)
- Plays MKV, DivX etc. over LAN. Did the 330/LX53 do this? Haven't seen DLNA mentioned by name just that it plays files "stored on a PC or compatible networked media server."
- WiFi needs an optional usb adapter. No mention of ethernet over HDMI.
- Remote now has separate volume/input controls for both TV and receiver, which is a nice addition for people without Harmonies.
- PQLS
- YouTube / Netflix.
The European LX range is similar to the American Elite range, but has a different appearance.
BDP-LX54 adds the following to the entry-level BDP-430
- Armoured Chassis
- RS-232
- Back-lit remote control
- C17 power lead (instead of C7)
- Hairline brushed metal finish. (instead of gloss black plastic)

Wish it wasn't true, but it is.... What they "have" made are, overpriced tanks, that look good but don't work worth a crap...I have owned every single model that they have built, and will never buy another one. Felt like a fool when I bought the 09 and had to get rid of it cause cheaper units were crapping all over it...
Don't want to hear about alledged better PQ...simply isn't true....every player I've owned had a great picture...(when they worked at all). Bottom line, a 200.00 LG will crap on any Pioneer built...especially the older ones...

Perhaps that where their niche truly lies. Its funny though that they make great DVD players but not so good with BD players.

I'm taking a pass on Pioneer from now on seems most of their current line are going to be made in China
