That word has always given me trouble. Hopefully I'll remember your instructions on its use and not use it improperly in the future. And affect also means mood.
I wouldn't sweat it too bad, this is the internet, not a literature group. That said if you want to have some fun, here's my favorite place for grammar tips: http://theoatmeal.com/comics/misspelling (it says it's about spelling but covers some grammar as well, this guy is a comic genius)
hey, i'll play too...
many of us wish that posters would "mute" themselves when a point is "moot"...
loose vs. lose...
best one recently was someone who dropped "for all intensive purposes" into a post...
Loose superceding lose--a major sign of the decline of public education IMO.
Blame the great vowel shift of the 14th to 17th centuries for turning English into a written language where words aren't pronounced as spelled....through vs thru, steak and stake sounding alike, etc. And of course the word 'speaker'.
if you want to hear what English once sounded like, find an audio clip of the Prologue of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales: you'd think it was Dutch!
Thanks for all your reviews and information about this unit!!! Ive been plowing through the pages and it really helped me to make up my mind to purchase this unit (although its been out there for a while now)
My Harman Kardon AVR7000 stopped working after 12 beautifull years I got some budget of my lovely wife to upgrade !!
I found a great offer on this Denon unit and although for the forseeable future I will only use it in a 5.1 setup I do enjoy the sound coming from it!
My speakersetup: Dali 505 , C1000 and R1000 and a yamaha YST-SW320 sub (now to get some budget to upgrade the speakers, lol )
Other stuff hooked up: Samsung 46" LCD, Samsung DVR, Denon BDT-1713UD Blu-ray player, conceptronic NAS and ofcourse my PS3
For upgrading the speakers I have asked advice in the speaker section of this great forum!
Thanks again and keep up the good work! Edited by cornholioNL - 12/9/12 at 12:59pm
Would like to try out Apple's Airplay. My 4311 was mfd in April, 2012. Does it already include Airplay free of charge or do I still have to buy it? If it's alreay contained in the unit, how do I access it?
If your receiver is connected to the network, than any iDevice or iTunes on the same network should "see" it. Look for the AirPlay icon in your iTunes or iDevice "Music app" and if the 4311 shows up as an available "speaker" then you have AirPlay.
