Done and done! In 5-7 days, the world will be set right.
I have the same problem with my 4311 but it did the same thing with my Marantz SR7005. It will turn itself on but only once. I turn it off with the power switch on the receiver and it doesn't turn itself on again. I still haven't found the culprit. Since it did it with the Marantz also I do not believe it is the 4311 that is the actual culprit. I just turn off the network stanby so it doesn't do it. It's not that big of a hassle to just turn on the receiver first.
Are you sure you didn't have a power blip? Recall, if the 4311 receives an interruption in power, however brief, it will power on after the power is restored. This has happened to me on a number of occasions, and should be no cause for concern.
"Pretty hot"? That is lower than body temperature. SoM should be placing his Margarita on top of the A100 to keep it cold! Just exactly what should the target temperature for an AVR be?
