Need Supermicro AOC-SAT2-MV8 8 port sata drivers.

I lost my driver disk for my Supermicro AOC-SAT2-MV8 8 port sata card. I am having a heck of a time finding drivers for this card to work in WHS. I used the drivers on Supermicros ftp site & they work but smart data does not. So no temp readings or anything.

From what I understand the drivers on the original cd that came with this card are Marvell drivers. They do work in WHS & will pass on the smart data from the hard drives.

If anyone knows where I can obtain these drivers, please respond. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I did send a email to Support at Supermicro requesting help on this matter.

Thanks

Phil

Thanks Jon. These are the same drivers that I already have. Did these come off of the cd that came with the card? If they are looks like I am screwed.

Again thanks.

You can get the SMART data using other programs. In my WHS I have one Sat2-MV8 and one SASLP. The SAT2-MV8 actually passes SMART data but the SASLP does not. I installed HDSentinal on my WHS and now I see smart data for all my drives

Yes, they came off the CD - however, the card was purchased second hand and the CD was a burnt one, so I don't know if they are the original or not. I do not get SMART data on my Supermicro tho.

Do you have the driver disk that came with your Sat2-MV8? Supermicro sent me a iso that was supposed to be the original disk. I couldn't get their drivers to load at all.

I tried HDSentinal. No luck with that. Only about half of my drives showed up..

Thanks for helping.

Jon

Your drivers match what are on the Supermicro FTP site.

Hopefully the cd that wflammenspeck is posting tonight will solve both of our problems.

Again thanks for everybodys help. These drivers are very hard to find.

If wflammenspeck doesn't get to it, I can also upload the drivers from the CD when I get home from work.

Thanks Wolfgang,

I was able to download the iso just fine. It is exactly the same as the iso Supermicro sent me.

The problem is since I used the hybrid Adaptec driver for the card then WHS now sees this card as a Adaptec card.

I removed the Registry entrees pointing to the Adaptec drivers. So when I uninstall the card & then install the card it prompts me for the software. The problem is it is prompting me for the Adaptec drivers. I need to find a way to completly uninstall this card to start fresh. I hate to think I have to reinstall WHS to fix this.

If anyone has any ideas I'm all ears.

Thanks

Phil

I tried the iso that Wolfgang gave me on my workstation. It is running XP. The card installed without any problems with the Marvell drivers.

I have a new MB with dual Xeon processors with 3 PCI-X slots coming. Should be here next week. I'll do a reinstall with that board. Then the Marvell drivers should install without a problem.

In the meantime if anyone has any suggestions on how to remove the Adaptec drivers from WHS permanently, please let me know.

Thanks

Phil

im attempting to install windows 7 using this card onto an ssd. motherboard is an assus a7n8x-x. windows lets me load the driver off usb drive then sees drive, i format it and all is well but when i click it to install windows on that drive it says a message that This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk, ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in computer's Bios menu

Im unsure at this point what to do.
