Getting DVR to work with Toshiba 46HM95

Hi,

I have a 2004 Toshiba DLP TV - 46HM95. I received a DVR with the TV - Toshiba model 160HD4. This TV has been in storage while I was living overseas.

I just moved to Chicago and am trying to get the DVR to work, which requires getting the TV Guide On Screen to work.

Any thoughts on how to get the DVR working? I am a total novice on this so appreciate any help that you can offer!

Does the tv guide work? If not, the dvr won't work either. If it does, then you just hook it up with the firewire and program on screen.

IF the tv guide is now broadcast digitally, then it won't work EXCEPT if you use a few external boxes that decode the tv guide from digital then send it analog to the tv.

That is the only way possible that I know of.

Are you using cable or antenna?

I am using antenna. Planning on buying this:

Artec TV Guide Digital-to-Analog Converter Box, Model T3APR-T

Think that will work?

IT might work, but you won't get a true tv guide, just a few hours on each channel AFTER you tune to that channel.

If you want to record HD for OTA I suggest another route - see my reply in your other thread on the Toshiba DLP (HM/HMX).
