I noticed yesterday that UVerse now has 4 free 3D programs on demand. 2 Dinosaur ones, a deep sea one, and the egypt one.

Good to see some more content coming for UVerse subscribers.

Where is it listed under? I can't seem to find it.

Ok, I found it. Only had one dinosaur one listed. I now have a reason to setup my Mitsubishi converter.

Hmmm...

I have:

Dinosaurs: Giants of Patagonia
Dinosaurs Alive
Wild Ocean
Mummies: Secrets of the Pharaohs

It's also interesting that in the the description of Patagonia, it says: "...consider signing up for the brand new 3D content tier and receive access to 5 more free 3D movies through the month of december..."

Not sure what that will mean for UVerse 3D subscribers (which I am one of).

You guys actually got good 3D movies unlike the crap I have on Comcast OnDemand.

Yea, but I guess it's about time considering we are the only subcribers that have to pay our provider to pay for content.

I wonder if it's because I'm not paying the extra $10 3D fee and only the free Dinosaurs: Giants of Patagonia is showing up.
Damn I really don't want to pay the extra $10 3D fee. They should at least include it in my U400 package.

Yeah that is why i am switching to Direct. I refuse to pay another 10 dollars for one channel that only airs 3d content once or twice a month.

So does anyone else who has uverse and does not pay the $10 3d fee have more than one 3d ondemand??

thanks
No just one here too.
I have Uverse and I am NOT paying for the 10 dollar a month 3d plan. I got home yesterday and checked.

I have 4 free ondemand 3d shows. The same as the OP. 2 dinasour ones, Deep Sea, and the egypt one.

I watch the dinasour: Patagonia one and it was pretty cool. There was some bad ghosting on the long sweeping camera scenes but the rest was good.

Must be regional or something.

watched Patagonia, and Dinosaurs Live!. And I was impressed with the quality. Thanks for the heads up
post #15 of 33
Thanks for the heads-up. Unfortunately, I only have one video that we could watch, Dinosaurs: Giants of Patagonia. But, it was nice to have something other than all the downloaded stuff I have.... I guess I have to subscribe to get the rest. SUX.

The best 3D effect I've seen is in Mummies with the lizard coming out right in front of your face and is about to eat you, quite scary.

I have Comcast only in the condos where I live. On another thread regarding the blurriness, I responded about my mitsubishi projection tv developing multiple control issues, convergence, video setting, image stabilization. Now my mitsubishi (a 2000 model) has finally given up the ghost, or rather developed more ghosts (looks at times as if it is 3d already, but without the glasses!!) I am going with one of the new 3d panasonics but am confused as to the 3d blue ray players.

Have to order the television, no stores in near vicinity, have to drive far to get to a best buy to see the tv in person.

A local Store offered to give a free panasonic 3d blue ray DMPBD100 if I order from them since they cannot match Best Buy's price. Would that be worth the trade off in price? It doesn't seem to be free since the model doesn't seem quite up to par with the newer 2hdmi ones. The store also has to order the television and will give free delivery since they are $200.00 above Best Buy.

My Tom wants to eventually get a Playstation that has blue ray. Am I correct in thinking that the new playstations also play 3d?

Any suggestions would help as it is football season and He is a diehard fan? in florida

I think you are in the wrong thread. This is UVerse, you should have posted Comcast here.

They just need to fix the A/V sync issue on ESPN 3D and then I'd be happy.

Still having a hard time with the $10 a month.

A couple of questions about Uverse 3d. I set it up yesterday and found two 3D on demand movies. The first is a cartoon that was the worst 3D quality I have ever seen, and the second was a film on bugs. The bug movie did actually look good.

First question are these the only two available?

And second question: My uverse box is connected to the AVR, which then connects to the TV both using HDMI 1.3. Is this going to be an issue?

I agree with you, the animation was horrible! The bug one was pretty cool. Those are the only two 3D movies I saw on the 3D section of "on demand". You using the HDMI 1.3 should be fine, I didn't notice any quality change when I switched my cables to the 1.4 cables...

The knicks bulls game on the 25th was my first time seeing a 3D live event on my new Samsung 8000 plasma. I also recorded the heat lakers game and just saw a quarter of each.

The 3D game feels like you are actually at the stadium, it is in my opinion much better than a regular HD game no matter what the resolution difference. My only complaint is the sound is off by a few seconds, not sure if this is a Uverse issue or if ESPN 3D is still trouble shooting. I also noticed pixelation during fast movements on the regular HD game but not on the 3D game.

Cant wait to see the bowl games.

I've seen that with normal TV viewing. Uverse needs to fix their damn audio problems.

Has anyone here ever tried any of the rentals?
I'm curious to see how well UVerse handles 3D rentals.
Shrek Forever After 3D was recently posted. I wonder how UVerse managed to pull this off? Anyway, I own a Panasonic, so I'll give it a try later today.

Just checked the menu today

Christmas Carol, Despicable Me, Last Airbender, Legend of the Guardions, and Shrek Forever all rental-able for $7.00 each... Great news IMO
