Is the Dirac Research AP20 a SOTA SSP? - Page 27

I have no idea how much the MC series of Trinnov units cost- that's what Jeff will buy, not the TEQ from ADA.

the Rhapsody is 7800, TEQs are more money- 12ch for 16k. RS20i is 18.5k, Dirac kit is going to run a few grand as well. When that is considered, they are closer in price.

But again, Jeff isn't looking at TEQs he's considering MCs.

Amen to that, 2 cedias ago it sounded criminally bad. Left the wrong impression on me of Marks speakers that are supposed to sound great but that demo was HORRIBLE.

I think the Datasat is a phenomenal piece and I have seen it make crappy commercial cinemas The demo room at Moving Image Tech in LA sound excellent, that they mess up in demos is something that is beyond my cinema reference with the hoyt heights and wides .

Am i the only one thinking this processor makes no sense in the home market yet? Just doesn't seem that impressive for the price...

The AP20 was/is a commercial cinema piece that found its way into home theater.

The AP20 has been replaced by the RS20i for home theater use.

I believe there was also a trade in program for people with the AP20 that allowed a comfortable move to the RS20i.
