I was with DIrectv for 12 years, just going to Comcast in the past 2 years. My son still has D, so I do still get a chance to see how it is doing. We both have panny plasmas, his an S2, mine a VT25. I didn't dislike D. I did go thru the painful early years and when I finally left them they were ,in my mind, the only way to go. Here is the however,, However, I moved to a new home where satellite was not an option. I had to go Comcast. I must say that Comcast has come a long way since I was last connected. The Comcast HD PQ is now perceivably a little bit better, IMO. The HD PQ (including the 3D) is excellent and even my son has commented how good it is. Another however is though, I think DirectTV still has the edge on standard def channels. Comcast's reliability has been excellent the 2 years I've had them. But again, I'm in a new subdivision. The one thing I don't miss is going out to the dish in the winter time knocking the snow and ice off the LNBs and the occasional rain fades right at the end of a HBO movie. I guess, after all of that, what I'm saying is they are both very good now. Decide on which will give you the best bang for your dollar, not PQ.
