Known Problem with AMAZON VOD & Panasonic VIERA CAST

Thread Starter
Just hooked up my new Panasonic DMP-BD65 and was really looking forward to trying some Amazon VOD. Unfortunately, it never connects at more than 2/4 green bars. This, when I have verified I am getting 5+ Mbps at the Ethernet to player and Netflix HD is fine.

Called Amazon and Tech said it is a known issue with Panasonic players. Tech also said the problem is on Amazon's end and it has been occurring for "some time now". When pressed, Tech said it has been happening for weeks+. Tech further said Amazon is "working on it", but provided no estimate of when the issue would finally be fixed. Not sure if this problem occurs with TVs with VIERA CAST as well? Anybody care to comment?

This is very disappointing.
I bought a new player with VIERA CAST specifically so I could use Amazon VOD a la carte and now it won't even work until who knows when. If this was Panasonic's problem, this player would be going back.

You're lucky it is Amazon's problem since if it was Panasonic's problem they've shown historically that they won't make any fixes till next year's model.

I am glad to hear that this problem is in Amazon's end. I bought a Panasonic TCP50G10 from them last December and received a $100 credit to use in Amazon VOD. I have used Vieracast to watch movies throughout this year and my experience has been similar. Never HD, usually 2-4 green bars, and lots of buffering. Hopefully they will fix it, otherwise it is not worth paying for.
