Without reading the whole thread, can anyone tell me if the 80.2 is available yet?

I am wondering if Integra has made any improvements to its analog inputs, especially CD input. In any case I am not holding my breath. I have Sony TA-P9000Es on standby which will go between the Lt/Rt preouts of Integra & my amp through 5.1 channel bypass input on Sony with my CD player hooked up to Sony directly. Hopefully this combo sounds great.

Quick question - On the 80.2, can the inputs be customized? BD/DVD can be displayed as "OPPO BD83" for example.

I don't think we have a manual yet, but customizing the display per input has been around for a while.

I am looking very closely at getting one of these when they are available. I am selling my Denon AVP/POA combo and getting something different just because I can and I like new things.

Not to rain on the 80.2 parade, but it has just come to my attention that Outlaw Audio is introducing a new pre/pro that is supposed to have Audyssey. If it is the XT 32 variety, then it will join the 80.2 on my short list.

It would be great if you came back here and gave us all your comparison's between the Denon and Integra.

Jeff: Do you know the "alleged" availability and if it has the same sub functionality as the 80.2 (or the Audyssey SubEQ). Any info available anywhere?

Dual sub outs is all it says now. If we learn it has XT 32, then that's a pretty good clue that it has dual independent sub outs ... and Sub EQ HT.

I have just ordered a DHC 80.2 rather than wait for Outlaw (had been waiting a very long time!).

Can the two sub woofers have quite different in characteristics with the independent setup now possible in the 80.2?

I have an old Dahlquist DQ-10 sub that I could use as a second sub (in rear of room or side) with my Descent i (in front) to help smooth out the room. Would that make sense.?

My local dealer called yesterday and said his report from Integra listed the DHC-80.2 in stock. Put one on order. Should be here in about a week.

From what I understand - and this may be too much extrapolation - all XT32 have Sub EQ HT, and all Sub EQ HT have the ability to do 2 subs

Not extrapolation at all. What you have just posted is all confirmed by Professor Kyriakakis.

Actually, Chris/Audyssey has confirmed that all XT 32 boxes will have Sub EQ HT, and the latter *is* integrating two subs (or sub channels to be more precise) into one system with separate distance and level settings, and then EQ'ing the whole cannoli as ONE ... big ... honkin' ......SUB.

I've called a local shop here and got a fair price on this unit, but they are still handcuffed by the Canadian markup they have to absorb. I'm close to Buffalo and would drive over the boarder to get one if it meant a healthy savings, can anyone suggest an Integra dealer within an hours drive of Buffalo? I've sent a couple of email's to some of the dealer's off the integra list, but I'd feel better if there was some recommondations here from some people on good places to buy.

Are they still marking the price up by 33%, from the U.S. price?

Are they still marking it up more than the exchange rate would be responsible for is a better question.

In the last few month's the CDN $ has been about 3% lower than the U.S. $.

When I bought my 9.8 the price was very comparable to the U.S. price.

When I inquired locally on the 9.9 I could not believe how much higher the price was. They always used the excuse that there is less demand in Canada.
Hence the higher price. That is a big crock.

Nikon was famous for also doing this, a couple of years ago.. But, they just released a new camera(D7000). Guess what the retail price is only 79$ more than the U.S. price.

They create the problems, but jacking over the consumers. Then we are forced to buy out of country, or not at all.

The msrp was closer to 40% more but he was willing to deal, unfortunately it is still worth the savings for me to drive an hour, cross the boarder, pay duty and come back home, sad, but true. I don't blame the Canadian reseller at all and I have an appreciation for the economies of scale, i just feel bad for them not even being able to compeat.

There was a large reseller in WPG, who ended up dropping the Integra line just before I got my 9.8. Now I see why. You are getting into some serious cash. More choices become available.

Now there are only 2 smaller companies that do custom installs and home theater rooms. They will only special order in, and you pay close to full retail.

Oh well, no 9.9 and no 80.2. Hopefully the competition will step up their game a bit.

I have been waiting on this pre for awhile now. Just for giggles I called my local dealer on Saturday to get some idea as to how long I would have to wait to get one, and he had stock! I'm in the middle of nowhere in a small city and my dealer by all accounts is small. As you can imagine, I dam near fell out of my chair when he said he had them in stock.

Needless to say, I went down and picked one up. I plan to get it installed this weekend.

Where can I download the manual for the dhc-80.2?

I don't think you can yet as the DHC-80.2 isn't even on the Integra site yet.

I don't think it is available for download yet. It is not on their website. The data sheet link earlier in this thread was from CEDIA, the show for dealers and installers.

You can look at the 5508 manual on the Onkyo International site. Thought I'd mention this since they should be similar.

Question for anyone who owns one, are the RS-232 commands in the manual? Or is something I will need to get directly from Integra?
