The short summary:
Setup --> 7. Hardware Setup --> 4. HDMI
HDMI Control (RIHD) -> ON
Power Control -> ON
TV Control -> ON
For me this does allow HDMI pass through with both audio and video while the 80.2 is in standby. The only minor annoyance is that if you have both the TV on and the DHC-80.2 on, when I turn the TV off, the 80.2 also turns off.
Normally this is exactly what you want, but for some of my Blu-Ray audio discs (Divertimenti from 2L for example), i briefly turn on my TV just to choose the audio format, but when I turn off the TV (since the disc is audio only) causing the 80.2 to turn off, I have to turn the 80.2 back on to listen to the music.
As I said - very minor annoyance; it's far more important to be able to check the morning weather/news without having to crank up the whole system (especially when others are sleeping!).
Perhaps someone with more hours logged in investigating the setup of the DHC-80.2 has a workaround for this.
