I'm in the middle of nowhere in a small city and my dealer by all accounts is small. As you can imagine, I dam near fell out of my chair when he said he had them in stock.

Needless to say, I went down and picked one up. I plan to get it installed this weekend.

Did it come with the 9/17 firmware?

To do too much better you'd likely need to switch to the 5508 (which has a couple less features)

Discussing price is not allowed on this forum. This is both for the good of the consumer and the dealer. Bottom line is that you probably won't get anyone stepping up and quoting you a price under MSRP.

Yeah...how about free ? Where can we all get a free one for laboriously 'testing' their products for a couple of years ?

There's a firmware update on the site...

My DHC 80.2 has left Integra and is heading for the dealer close to me - should be there on Monday or Tuesday.
Just for giggles I called my dealer in WPG/Canada

They are available.

If you want to pay $3600.00 MSRP.

I don't think so Tim....
That is a heck of an exchange rate....since the msrp is $2300 USD.
Checked with my dealer and mine has shipped. Should be here by Wednesday!
Mine should here next week as well. I am curious about how to tell what firmware it ships with. Any have one now? How do you. Determine firmware version?
My order is placed as well. Hopefully I will have it on Tuesday!
For those of you with the 80.2 on order, what are you using now? Especially if it is an OP 885, 886 or 5507, or Integra 9.8 or 9.9, I ... and I'd bet most owners of those units ... am interested in hearing your comments on comparing sound quality on multichannel, mostly movies but DVD-A/SACD as well.

Thanks!

Jeff

I am using an 885. I will move that to another room

Mine is ordered also. I just need to find a buyer for my Denon AVP/POA combo.
Once all is set up I will do some comparisons. But the speakers and set ups will be different so hard to do . I am getting the 80.2 for the xt 32 , dual sub, etc. I. Also will be interested inthe heat from the 80.2. The 885 runs rather warm and I have put fans on top of it since the internal fan does not seem to work properly. It will also be nice if I can stream easily and use my iPod 4 for remote control.

I am using a Pioneer 1018 with an Integra DTA 70.1 amp as a temporary stop gap coming from a Pioneer SC-09TX that I sold in July. I am especially interested in hearing Nethomas' opinions coming from the reference Denon Pre-pro.

After I get mine and get it set up and calibrated I will let all know how it sounds in comparison to my memory of the AVP A1 HD. I have the Audyssey Pro kit so will use that for the set up.

Cool, I'm looking foward to your review!
It will be interesting to see how it sounds after almost two years of the AVP/POA combo. A few people have PM'd me and told me I was crazy but we'll see.

Where did you get the pro kit?

It will be interesting to see how the pro kit compares with XT32 and the included sub eq.

It's a safe bet the the Pro kit will improve upon the calibration of the stock Audyssey version. IMO.

Hi Joel,

Perhaps I am misinterpreting your use of the word "compares", but Audyssey Pro enabled devices always inherit the resolution of the version of Audyssey on the installer-ready device. This has nothing to do with whether or not MultEQ Pro is used or not.

Therefore you really can't directly compare MultEQ XT32 to MultEQ Pro. MultEQ Pro enhances the capabilities of the version of MultEQ residing on the device, including MultEQ XT32.

MultEQ Pro adds the following capabilities to the version running on the device:
  • a more accurate microphone
  • it permits taking up to 32 measurements
  • it permits editing the target curves
  • it uses a more sophisticated method to recommend crossover settings
  • it provides frequency response graphs
  • it permits saving and reloading measurement files

Are you all set up? Care to give us your initial impressions?

You answered the question Larry. the pro kit will only improve on a good thing.!!

I have hade the 80.2 about 2 weeks now, and it seems like thers a bug with PLIIx. After about 30-60min the relay clicks start going nuts, its clicking so fast that the 80.2 never loose the audio stream. Only way around this i have found is to change to another listning mode and back again. But it repeats after 30-60min again.
