Glen could have noticed her too then. I don't think she did much except throw the food in there. And since Sophia is much smaller than the adults she would have easily gone unnoticed for the few seconds someone would look as they throw the food down.

I don't know the story from the graphic novels. But I am enjoying the storytelling in the series. The Sophia matter had a VERY significant payoff for the entire story. It addresses and sets up many possibilities:
-- children in their new normal
-- Rick as the real leader, in spite of Shane's bluster
-- Shane's out-of-control nature, which Dale is on to
-- Herschel's secrets
-- hick brother and his visitations by one-hand; a dangerous man to be thinking "what else have I go to be doing?"
-- sick people vs mere dangerous creatures
-- the possibility of a "cure" is far more likely now, to make the characters suffer the "what if" thoughts

I'm sure the second part will start off explaining about Sophia. And they can't spend many more weeks at the farm since there is no reason to stick around now, except for Lori needing Hershel's medical assistance.

Also, how do you cure rotted corpses? I can see an immunization for the remaining humans within the realm of possibilities, but not a cure for the zombies.

Something Rick never bothered to mention to Herschel, and nor did anyone else.
I guess all that target practice worked...they fired about 100 rounds on maybe 15 zombies...
Frankly, I was just thankful they had to use more than 15 bullets. I was surprised we didn't witness 15 perfect headshots just from Shane alone.

heres the last scene if anyone wants to count http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SL4slORJqcA

still waiting for someone to upload the part when they first bring up sophia and herschel nods his head no

Best Episode Hands Down. What an emotional quagmire......

That's exactly why it wasn't as good as it could be.

It went exactly where everyone expected it to go. Every step of the way. You can read this thread for all the posts for season 2 and see people call the plot line at least 2 weeks ahead. The thread reads like a plot synopsis on Wikipedia. The difference is, it was written before the episodes aired.

In other words, up to this point, season 2 has been one predictable cliche.

For me, the only reason this episode was any good was the characters finally did something. The only reason it was the best hands down is the others were so mediocre. It's like they finally figured out that in order to boil water, you actually have to turn up the burner a little. The problem is, they never quite got it up to high except in the last few minutes.

Honestly, I was hoping Dale would put a round through Shane's head, especially when I saw him roll up with the rifle still with him. That would at least be something we didn't already call on this board.

Man, I miss season 1. Hopefully the last half of season 2 will be better. Otherwise, I don't know if I need to bother with season 3.

I was hoping Shane would die too. His character has reached a point of over the top absurdity that he is now more villainous than Merle ever was.

The show needs to cull the cast. There are far too many to care about and the writing doesn't serve to make them any more interesting when they are basically retreading the same role every week.

At this point I only think T-Dog is still alive so that he is the antithesis of the cliche that the black character will die first. Most of the time it's hardly worth the actor arriving on set now.

If anyone thinks the camp would be safer without shane they are nuts...they need to keep him around..he is the only one thinking about safety here...and aside from rick he is a trained shooter as well

It's not real life. If the camp needs to be safer, the creators can write something that makes another character come up with the bright idea of not hiding your guns in a swamp.

And it's not as if Camp Rick is in any danger on Herschel's Farm. They just sit around reading, harvesting vegetables and doing laundry.

What good ideas has Shane had anyway? If they wanted to kill the zombies in the barn he could have asked Glenn how he got in. Then Shane could have climbed in through the loft and taken a look before deciding to kill them all from a safe and easy distance.

Shane would be a monumental loss to the group, and to the dynamic of the show. There are really only two people on the show that can't ever die: Rick and Shane.

Also, to the comment above, I don't see at all how Shane has turned into a villain. I took the reason that everyone was standing around while Rick was hamstrung by the zombie in the noose and Shane opened up the barn was because they all mostly agreed with him, even if they didn't want to admit it or couldn't do it themselves. He's no more a villain than either Jack and Locke were to each other in the early going of Lost (before Locke became the smoke monster).

Shane is a very necessary character, driven by perfectly understandable motivations. It's just that, standing next to Angel Rick, he seems quite a bit darker. And he's emotionally unstable when it comes to Lori. But his instinct is always survival--and he is really the only member of the group with that instinct.

Too many of the other characters, Rick included, are hanging onto old conventions that don't make much sense. As a prime example, Lori expressed disgust that they would scavenge the cars on the highway for supplies because it was a "graveyard." As if that logic makes any sense at all given their circumstances.

Well the comic seems to have continued without problem after Shane got killed off early in the run.

It was so obvious that Sophia was going to be in the barn, was anyone even surprised when she came walking out?

The only 2 instances of unexpected dramatic and meaningful action were:

"Carl gets shot accidentally when a bullet passes through a deer"

"Shane shoots Otis to save himself from the zombies"

Every other possible plot twist such as "Andrea shoots Daryl in the head", "Lori takes abortion pills", or "Character X confronts Character Y" ended in no change at all.

The networks complain that the shows cost so much then they feel they have to deliver 12-13 episodes instead of 6-7 good ones. They're still catering to those who use TV as a drug. Eventually the economy will probably force them into giving us 6 or 7 good episodes for a season.

I'm with the nay-sayers on this alleged "season" Completely predictable and only mildly entertaining. All the momentum from season 1 has been lost.

Except they got record ratings for all of cable with this show last year and this. You would think they could spring a few extra bucks.

plus Pizza Hut was a sponsor and the subtle Hyundai product placement followed by Hyundai commercial first in break was prevelant this season...all going into AMC's pockets?

I see the mid season finale topped the finale of season 1. At least that is great news. That should bode well for a season 3.

Here is an interview with Robert Kirkman talking about TWD mid season finale and what lies ahead.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/liv...kirkman-265484

it sounds interesting about how there have been some major changes between the show and the comic and there have also been things the same from the comic.

Has anyone but me wondered where they got all the food necessary to feed all the people who were hanging around the farm?

That's a silly question. The farm is a magical place. Hence the refrigerator and pantry are always fully stocked. Magic also explains how Carl and Daryl recovered from their serious wounds in one day.
