From what i understand they dont really need to eat....looking for food is just pure instinct kicking in.
Since they arent alive they dont need the same energy levels that we need from food.
They would just keep existing during decomposition until they eventually get so decomposed they just cant function anymore but that you figure could take awhile.

We pretty much saw in the first episode when we first see Atlanta that some of the zombies essentially just go into "standby" mode until something comes along to motivate them to move as evidenced by the zombies sitting on the bus and the soldier in the tank. They appeared to by lifeless until Rick came along.

Don't forget that Herschel originally though that the zombies would be cured and they were just sick, he kept them because he had hope and considered them people/family still. He could of just been feeding them because he didn't come to terms yet that they were zombies and he was hoping to keep them nurished for when they could be cured. It took Shane to convince him oitherwise. smile.gif

Kirkman himself has said there is an evolution of sorts to the zombies in his world... they are faster at first, and slow down over time.

So... they still aren't "alive" and are decomposing and wearing out... IF you could wait them out... find an area, protect it and grow food, you could wait them out as long as you cremate any people in your gated community who die in the meantime... Like I said, it can be a manageable thing if people behave rationally instead of freaking out and attacking each other.

It would be as bad as if they stayed almost the entire season at a farm.

Actually, in a hot place, a body will turn to mush in just a few days, for sure less than 4 so if they are in the south they should be dropping into balls of goo pretty quick! Not to mention the bugs will be feasting ton them pretty hard too! wink.gif

Oh yeah, Season 4 looks like it ROCKS!!

I'm willing to forgive the lack of rotting corpses only because the whole idea of the undead is preposterous by itself. It's one thing to have a scenario where you have a virus that turns living people into into bloodthirsty cannibals operating on instinct - it's another thing entirely to have brain death and still be walking around, immune to physical harm aside from severe brain trauma. Of course, killing a zombie with a bullet to the brain makes no sense either (based on the Walking Dead re-animated brain stem scenario). The brain is dead. If the requirement for killing a zombie on the show was destroying the brain stem (severing the neck or putting a knife or bullet into it), it would make more sense.

As a result, the lack of decay aside from body damage sustained through a zombie attack is easy enough to embrace.

Not even make-up and other zombie related vfx? Travesty!

Nah. It's just the Emmys. Overblown, over hyped, and overly predictable.

I guess it really depends on whether it was based on season 1 or season two.

Season one, that's a snub. Season two, not worthy.

I didn't say that - I'm just saying season two of WD isn't.

There are a lot of other more worthy great dramas out there that didn't get nominated or even honerable mention. Noticeably lacking would be Southland - one of the greatest cop drams since NYPD Blue, The Shield and The Wire.

Honestly, I would even take Hell on Wheels over at least a couple of the ones that made the list. I'm sure some here would take Luck, as well, despite the cancellation.

Personally, I think someone else should have been choosen other than Mad Men. It's not so much a question of what they've done to have been nominated (they certainly accomplished that), it's what have they done to be nominated again.

I see winning or being nominated for an Emmy as being like a promotion at work: you go above and beyond everyone else to win the first one. However, to get another, you have to top yourself. The bar should be higher each time.

As far as AHS, I'll agree it likely isn't Emmy Worthy despite being very different than most of the other stuff out there as well as very entertaining. I just think some of the acting was lacking and the show seemed to spend a lot of time being weird for the sake of being weird. While I like that about the show and that will get me to tune in to season 2, I don't think it's award winning material.

I only asked because of the number of AHS nominations .. personally, I would pick Hell on Wheels .. loved it .. as well as Luck .. loved it as well ..

I have been an avid fan of The Walking Dead from the beginning, but I've also been a faithful "Dish Network" customer for ten years. As you surely know, Dish dropped AMC on July 1st, so what are my options for watching The Walking Dead, shy of dropping Dish and going with DirecTV or cable?

Did The Walking Dead Blu-ray or DVD ever end up in video stores? I'd be more than willing to rent Season Three and watch multiple episodes over a cold winter weekend.

Season One is available on DVD / BD as well as streaming on Netflix .. you'd have to check with your local Video stores for their availability .. season 2 has an ETA of August 28th on disc ..

Call Dish and tell them you miss AMC and ask them what they will do to keep you as a subscriber. Once you get kicked upstairs to their loyalty group, you'll be offered a free Roku streaming device, 12 months of $10 off (to pay for streaming), and maybe even half off HBO for 6 months. Read at this link to see what others have been getting: http://www.satelliteguys.us/dish-forum/287624-did-you-get-free-roku-offer-2.html

Do a little homework, and you'll be good to go.
