Just got an email from Netflix, announcing that Season #2 of the Walking Dead is available on Watch Instantly. Good chance to catch up if you have the need.

"Oh, crap! Walkers!"

"My daughter is missing!"

"Sophia!"

"Sophia!"

"Sophia!"

"Where is Sophia?!"

**Andrea does something stupid**

"Carl, stay in the house."

"Where's Carl?"

"Where's Carl?"

"Where's Carl?"

**Andrea does something stupid**

**Glenn gets lucky**

"You're only allowed here as long as you follow the rules!"

**Andrea does something stupid**

"Stay away from the barn."

"What's in the barn?"

**Andrea does something stupid**

**Glenn gets lucky**

"Those people were our neighbors and friends!"

**Andrea does something stupid**

"Oh crap! Walkers!"

**Andrea does something stupid**

There...now you're caught up.... wink.gif

Well, I did leave out a couple listings for

**Shane does something anti-social**

and the "this isn't a democracy" part... wink.gif

If I had more time (and the video) I'd love to put together a "Walking Dead Season 2 in 30 Seconds" video...maybe 60 seconds to fit in a few more things...

That would be great, and would love to see some day biggrin.gif Would you do all the acting?

I think it's just the opposite. I can't believe that it's ready to start up the third season already. This year seems to have gone by very quickly.

Thanks to a bit of thread drift in a thread unrelated to The Walking Dead, I can't recall which thread, I read raves about the show. Consequently, I checked when Season 3 would start earlier today and learned to my delight that Seasons 1 and 2 will be shown in their entirety beginning at 9:00 AM on Saturday, 10/13. That's a great break for me because I had made what was apparently a mistake by avoiding Seasons 1 and 2 when AMC first aired them. Looking forward to catching up on Seasons 1 and 2 and then watching Season 3.

FWIW, both seasons are available on shiny disc. If you're unwilling to purchase them yourself, you might check to see if your local public library has them.

Thanks for the tip but I struck out. I use my local library's collections very heavily and have a bookmark on my Bookmarks Bar for its site. Unfortunately, my library does not hold the DVDs of The Walking Dead. No matter, though, I'll start catching up in a couple of weeks when AMC starts the reruns.

Well, there's also inter-library loan, although that probably would take too long, too.
Both are also available on Netflix streaming.

I used to do that at the OklahomaState library back in the day but agree that an interlibrary loan is too long a piece of string for just one more piece of popular fiction.

My mother-in-law started watching it via DVD and, much like Firefly, she's totally into it now. Occasionally the ol' bird surprises me in a good way. tongue.gif

DVD box sets are a wonderful thing for family unity. I'm getting her into BSG next. That's 80+ episodes; should keep her engaged and unobsessed with my many faults for awhile. tongue.gif

After that, you might consider Stargate: 10 seasons of SG 1, 5 of SG Atlantis and 2 of SG Universe. smile.gif I was somewhat surprised that watching a disc-full of SGU episodes all at once actually made them much more palatable. But that's a topic for a different thread...

You're a smart man wink.gif besides BSG was an awesome show, it's like seeing a huge painting by some famous renaissance artist just 3 inches away and every episode is like taking one step back, I really enjoy that show and it's extensive character building, and wonderful acting. I was sad when I ran out of show, you guys will have tons of things to talk about, you'll be her favorite Son in law heck she'll even take your side over her daughter when those spats come. wink.gif

Yeah, BSG (the remake) was an unexpected gift from the Gods. It was so ridiculously good for so long, it really spoiled us as to what TV sci-fi can be. It's telling that we haven't had anything since that even approaches it in terms of scope, scale, and overall excellence. 'Breaking Bad' is magnificent and there are others in its league, but they're entirely different kind of shows. Science fiction remains television's red-headed stepchild.

Fringe is in the same ballpark. Having just discovered it, I was struck by how the 3rd season explored much of the same themes as BSG, Did an excellent job of it too,

"There's actually like another 26 seasons" - priceless. And casting the real Ron Moore as a local Portland area actor was brilliant.
