"There's actually like another 26 seasons" - priceless. And casting the real Ron Moore as a local Portland area actor was brilliant.

I only recently discovered this most excellent series (WD, not BSG wink.gif ), so I decided to try the comic while waiting for my next video fix. I hadn't realized how many issues had been published o_O

Well, when will the third season come out? rolleyes.gif
Did you guys collect these previous videos on DVDs?

Ivan,

1. The 3rd season premiere is currently scheduled to be on Sunday, October 19, at 9e/8c. For details, see their Web site at http://www.amctv.com/shows/the-walking-dead

2. Of course. And the graphic novels, too.

I bought the previous seasons on DVD and I have to say, season 2 is a horrible, horrible collection of DVDs and put together in what appears to be an overnight job. Got the blu-rays and the packaging is weak, the discs themselves, there are hardly now bookmarks so you can't even skip the intro names/music montage because the next bookmark is well into the show. Lazy if you ask me. Also, the extras are light for a blu-ray release. In addition, quality doesn't even look as good as when it aired on TV. I was actually dissappointed in this seasons release.

It's probably karma for the E* people ragging on D* for not having AMC-HD before.

With the hard to ignore "DISH-buster" sign.

Well, it's that same logic that makes studios put ads for Blu-ray on the Blu-ray disc you're watching.

Sunday night has sure become a pile-on. It's like the network execs want to commit suicide with their prize shows by putting them on Sunday nights figuring they have a captive audience because Monday is a work day. I can remember back when Sunday nights were the most droll on TV. Good think AMC HD here is East Coast feed where "Walking Dead" is at 6 PM. My DVR flagged "Dexter" and "Boardwalk Empire" as possibly having the first 5 minutes clipped due to the overlap of "Comic Book Men" which I canceled and figured I could record it at a later time.

And yes I do think that putting ads for BD on a BD disc is flat out lame but have you ever met marketing people? Then you would not be surprised. One would wonder if the even own or used a BD player.

Speaking of Comic Book Men, why is it scheduled so late, didn't it immediately follow Walking Dead last year??

WARNING: I just noticed it on my Directv DVR, it was not going to record the new 'Walking Dead' until next Friday, and then I noticed that in the guide none of the new 'Walking Dead' episodes are listed as HD until next Friday night.

Total guess (I've got Dish, so waiting to watch on Amazon Prime tomorrow night), but AMC is probably rerunning the premiere immediately after the first broadcast, followed by Talking Dead, then CBM.

AMC is streaming it tonight 6pm PT for Dish subscribers but you have to sign up.

From the sign up page for Dish customers:
"AMC Networks may communicate with you about promotions or share this info with TV providers to contact you about services in your area. Online orders completed through a third party website. When you leave this site and go to the third party's website, its privacy policy and terms of use will apply and AMC Networks disclaims any responsibility for the use of your personal information by DGS. "
Gee, think they might use this information to harass Dish subs?!!

Oh, that's the schedule and it's the same next week. I just thought it followed Walking Dead last season. It just seems a bit late for the start of the show. I've got a DVR so I'll record, but it seems like a disservice to 'Comic Book Men' to put it so late in the night and out of prime time.

Are these two ever going to resolve their issues? It's almost like it's a done deal and they have no intentions of budging, either side.

I signed up to stream it from AMC and it's not working. All I get is a blank page.

As indicated in an earlier post I would do, I recorded The Walking Dead marathon and have watched the first 5 episodes of Season 1. The show is WONDERFUL television! I am still kicking myself for not picking up on it from the beginning. If I had realized at the time that Frank Darabont had created the show I probably would have. For obvious reasons, I won't start watching Season 3 until I have watched Seasons 1 and 2 in their entirety. .

Darabont either quit or was let go during the 2nd season. Just thought you should know that because the turmoil behind the scenes definately affects S2...I only mention that in case you get discouraged in S2. The show seemed to be spinning its wheels for a while but IMO righted itself in the last few episodes. Its worth hanging in there no matter what you think of the first half...
