"The Walking Dead" on AMC HD - Page 10

Character in "Dexter," for example, that would have been killed had the original book been followed are still alive. That way the fans of the book or graphic novel recognize the event/action but are surprised it's been switched, and people who've never read the original source are shocked regardless. Win-win.

Same with Rambo. There should have never been sequels if they followed the original novel.

Granted, it's just a TV show, but cutting a hand off is not the easiest thing in the world either.

Even though it did not have a lot of zombie action, I still enjoyed it.

Early word is that "Walking Dead" Season 2 won't premiere until October of 2011: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/blo...ason-two-45474

Let me guess, on October 31st?

^^^ It's the climax of AMC's Fearfest, isn't it?
I guess, don't know what Fearfest is.
Fearfest is what AMC calls its month-long program of horror movies it shows every October. It's always been a big ratings winner, and they'll probably try to replicate with Season 2 of "Walking Dead" what happened this year.

Caught up on the third episode, thought it was great. Not every episode is going to be filled with zombie action which will in the long run keep it from becoming completely stale.

That's what kept the comic interesting; the human interaction. You didn't know who would stab you in the back. Literary.

Fairly slow episode and I was a little bored at first. It did eventually pick up but such a shame with only 6 episodes.

Seems unlikely to me, unless they're airing episodes on Christmas Day and New Year's Day, both of which fall on a Sunday in 2011. And with 13 episodes, they'd run deep into late January. Even later if they throw in hiatuses for the holidays.

What I would do is the reverse: start the show early so it runs through October and climaxes with a special finale on Monday, October 31. They could even do back-to-back episodes, one on Sunday, October 30, and one the next day.

But obviously this means they'd have to rework their schedule, since Mad Men and The Walking Dead would overlap. They could always move Mad Men to 9:00 and see how it fairs against True Blood/Boardwalk Empire.

Great episode, better then 2 IMO. Less maguffins and melodrama.

We also got our first zombie kill without a head shot (well, until they had to finish it off that is)

Baseball bat - first episode. Axe - last week.

Meh. How can Walking Dead be so great in the pilot with character development and interaction, but the last 2 episodes lacked them so greatly? Right now I care more about the horse than any of the survivor party.

Everyone assumes he cut off his own hand....has no one given a thought there might be a third party at work?

Great episode, but I wondered why all the walkers abandoned the stairwell? And why did no one say anything about the loud noises during the frog quest?

If he cut his hand off and escaped the roof through a fire escape or something, then the zombies would loose interest and move on as they have said in previous episodes.

You are so right about this.

At this point, I can't tell if she is conflicted about Rick making it back, or just trying to hide it so she can figure out how to reunite with the other guy. Her fit down at the water's edge makes me think she is done with him, but her cold fish behavior towards Rick makes me wonder. It's got to be Callies' poor acting ability.

She's done with him because he told her that her husband was dead just to get with her. She hasn't told Rick because she knows what would happen and they've got enough drama already.

I'd tend to agree except that I got the impression that the affair started prior to his getting shot.

I thought that too but after seeing her wear his wedding ring on her necklace and the look on his partner's face when Rick showed up I changed my opinion. His partner looks to be a coward so far to me. He never wants to put himself on the line to save people, etc. He's always saying it's for the good of everyone and too risky, etc but it sure looks more like he's afraid to me. Oh, and the jealousy and shame in his partner is building minute by minute. I wouldn't be surprised if he volunteered for the next "intown rescue" just so he could try and kill Rick and blame it on the zombies

Except that what dvdguru stated was made clear in this week's ep.

How was it made clear that they weren't having an affair prior to Rick being shot?

Yeah, I know what you mean, but I'm not so certain that he is "all bad" like that quite yet. He definitely took out his anger on the wife-beater though!

She expressed disgust for the partner having convinced her Rick was dead, which had been a catalyst to begin the affair.

Correct

I was thinking the same thing when I watched it

That's easy to explain.

Once Michael Rooker made it off the roof they had no reason to be there - no food. They either wandered away or followed Mr One Hand.

Maybe that's true, but he could've easily just said that in an attempt to advance their affair into a full-fledged relationship, which he clearly wants.

I could be wrong, but their interaction that has been shown to us so far did not seem to be a new thing...they looked like they were used to having sex with each other on the sly so to speak.
