Is AMC really pulling a midseason break on us next week? I hate when networks pull this crap.

It seems to be a growing trend. Warehouse 13 is also doing it now. I don't mind it. To be honest, no matter how good a show is, after watching about 7-8 episodes week-to-week, I get a little fatigued and can use the break. Then, when the show returns, I'm fresh and excited again.

Seems like a tired plot thread if that turns out to be the case.

Rounding up family members and keeping them in a barn is not comparable to attempting what the 'professor' was attempting with the dying man. What Herschel was doing with the barn did not resolve the open question that the prof's test was addressing. Even though Andrea (and the viewers) already knew the answer. smile.gif

I don't really have a beef with the mid season break either .. as long as my DVR picks up when a new episode is due ..

As long as they keep showing tons of Zombie kills each show, i dont want a mid-season break, i am pumped up!!!!

Loved this episode and can't wait for next week's, this season has been amazing. I enjoyed last season overall but agree that it drag it parts but, this season has been killer, it has felt much more like the first season, even better IMO.

I'd take the hit on sound to not see Chris Hardwick or Talking Dead promos. He breaks the the tension way more than any soap or car commercials.
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Case and point right after Gov sexually assaults Maggie...you get a moment of silence for that behavior to sink in and THEN BOOM CHRIS HARDWICK MANUFACTURED CELEBRITY KING OF GEEKS IS ALL UP IN YOUR GRILL WITH THE PATH TO SALVATION. #HASHTAG #SUPERFAN

As long as it really is a midseason break, no problems here. The problems are the ones that claim midseason which are really over two seasons. BSG did it, so did Eureka several times.

I don't think the Governor did Maggie, I mean at least physically, it was a psych job but equally effective

Once he made her go topless the line was crossed.

^ I think it's fair game to speak about events that have occurred in already aired episodes without using spoiler tags. If you don't want already aired episodes ruined for you then you shouldn't be surfing this thread. smile.gif With that said, I'd personally prefer people using them more liberally when talking about the comic or next week's previews (not everyone watches them, or wants to). YMMV and to each their own, though.

Does anyone else think Andrea sucks now? What is the point of having her conforming, weak character around anymore? I hope she gets offed soon. tongue.gif

I've hated her since day 1....probably even more than Lori. Hope the Gov's daughter gets her....or at least someone in Woodbury takes care of her.

I also agree on the spoilers - previously aired episodes are fair game, but I never watch previews and don't want to know what's going on in the comic, especially on things/characters that haven't been revealed in the show.

The spoiler info is not a spoiler if it's been aired .. that's pretty much been AVS general policy for a long time ..

Andrea .. meh ..

No, he just humiliated her and threatened rape, which was hard enough to watch, much less be the victim of.

And good for you for being careful.  I wish others would be more careful, as noted about the comics, etc.

After suviving for so long "out in the wilderness" with Michonne I find it hard to believe that Andrea has become this naive. If we have to lose a character at the mid-season finale, I vote for her. It's disappointing though because I found her character mildly sympathetic. She grew from a peacnik to someone more coldhearted and aligned with Shane. Now she's just a horny ditz with a pert backside that looks amazing in a thong. I'm no longer a fan of her character but I'm still a fan of her backside.

The one question I have is why didn't Michonne tell the Rick that the kidnapper knew Maggie and Glen? The Prison Group would have quickly assessed that the kidnapper was Daryl? Why the secrecy?

The following pic much sums up my thoughts on the re-introduction of Carol. "Lil' Azz Kicker" has a new nanny! Hurray! Am I the only one wondering whether Daryl and Carol are gonna smash? Seems like they've both considered it.

I think that's the point. Andrea had been with a group and then she spent 8 months just wandering around with no place to call home and living day to day. The idea of a settled life would be very appealing.
Then you have the governor who acts like a tyrant but has set up a very nice place (at least that we can see although there are glimpses of bad behavior) for most of the folks to live. That is mirrored in a way by the Atlanta group with Rick as the dictator. Now each group basically is afraid and hostile to any outsiders. Woodbury is more openly hostile to outsiders although they are keeping it secret from the general population.

I kind of wonder about the attitudes of the living. Because everyone is infected, are they thinking of repopulation or just survival during their lifetimes. If repopulation is a goal, then breeding females would be at a premium. They don't seem to treat potential breeding females with any extra care.

It would be interesting to know if Judith is infected.

Andrea doesn't have the benefit of seeing what's happening when she's offscreen like we do. She has no reason to be ultra suspicious about the town or the governor based on what she's seen. Did you question Rick joining up with everyone in Atlanta back in season 1? Probably not, because you didn't have a bunch of shots of them being horrible people when Rick wasn't there like you do with the governor. But from the character's perspective, those don't exist.

Vulture interview with David Morrissey(the Governor).

The Walking Dead’s David Morrissey on the Governor and Severed Heads

No spoilers.

That has nothing to do with my growing dislike for Andrea. And comparing Rick's character to Andrea's is like comparing grape juice to your favorite wine; doesn't even make sense. It's cool that you like Andrea, though. I was just giving my opinion of her, but I appreciate you sharing yours. To each their own.

I think it could also be a power play by Andrea. In this world of survival, what she is doing is very smart IMHO.
Most women would probably choose to stay in Woodbury vs out fighting the walkers and sleeping with one eye open.

I've never been a fan of Andrea, but I actually like her more this season than the last two.
And at this point it's not like she is choosing team woodbury over team prison. She doesn't know about Rick's group still being alive.

I'm betting the shot of "Andrea" ass was a body double

I definitely agree with all that. She may not even be into the Gov, but she knows by acting/performing that she is, that her chances of survival are that much better. At least I hope she's playing the game.

Her character just annoys me though. I think it's all the dumb **** she's done across the seasons.

Probably, but I wouldn't be surpised if it was hers. As much as she annoys me, she has a pretty smoking hot post apocalyptic body.

My take on Andrea and the Gov .. she was vulnerable, he stepped up with what she thought was honest emotion, they hooked up .. it's happened for thousands of years ..

And why does she smile all the time .. ??

When she spiked the old man, she did not hesitate ..

And, I think that was her own butt ..

My first reaction to that was the Governor is giving her gifts.

I feel confident in saying that there is no lack of thongs, panties or other womens undergarments free for the taking .. wink.gif

I bet that thong is very easy to move around in as opposed to boxers. Inner thigh chafing while running from zombies is a severe threat in the Georgia summer.
