"The Walking Dead" on AMC HD - Page 108

No need to use a body double for Andrea's butt (or Michonne's for that matter). Why waste the $...?

I've stopped watching the next-week previews for shows like this, 'Homeland', 'Breaking Bad', etc. They just reveal too many moments that make for better surprises when watching the whole ep.; I can wait a week. And I'm not alone, so when peeps use spoiler tags to talk about stuff they see in the previews, it's not required but is appreciated. smile.gif

I've never been a big fan of Carol, but Darryl needs some lovin' and Carl & Judith need some watchin'. tongue.gif

Michonne sure is distrustful - of everyone. That perpetual scowl she wears is getting annoying. Guess that's how she's survived but can't she lighten up just a little? Maybe she misses her "pets".

You just reminded me: When Herschel was sewing up Michonne's leg, it looked like he was actually sewing up her pants. It didn't look like flesh at all. Minor complaint...

There was a hole in her pants conveniently torn (or cut) around the wound - dark pants, dark skin, but clearly visable. And that's why we love HDTV. wink.gif

Exactly. I don't think she's playing the governor and trying to increase her chances of survival, though. I think she's just attracted to the strong man type guys (Shane, governor). Either that or she's just horney. smile.gif She's not smart enough to pretend she's into the governor IMO. I hope I'm wrong though.

Agree with all this. She's not playing the governor, she's just attracted to men like him. She's become something of a cold-blooded and efficient killer herself, a complete 180 from where she started this adventure. Maybe she recognizes a little bit of herself in the Governor. At the very least, it's easy to see why she's attracted to him. And him to her - let's face it, she's got a smokin' bod. It is good to be the king. wink.gif

Based on what we've seen of her, I'd have to agree with you. A piece of me is holding out hope that she realizes something isn't right with the community, didn't want to go back to the wilderness, and is keeping her enemy close.....extremely close. biggrin.gif

I kind of hope we get some backstory on the community and it's residents....if it lasts. They go from a typical neighborhood block party to watching gladiators fight amongst zombies. Something ain't right.

Did anybody else do a double take when Carl coughed up the name "Judith." Seriously? No disrespect to the Judith's of the world. It's a great name and all but isn't it a bit dated? It's in the same category with Dorothy, Margaret, Ruth, Martha, Doris, etc. For historical accuracy shouldn't she be named Isabella, Emily, Olivia, Abby, Madison, or Ashley? rolleyes.gif

And I'm pretty sure there wasn't a body double for Andrea. I don't believe the camera cut away as she turned around. Props to her! Big thumbs down to Maggie's hand bra. If ever there was an argument for moving this to HBO it's that scene. Game of Thrones proves HBO knows bewbies.

For a community of 75ish people, you never see more than 2 or 3 at a time, and they're almost always the armed centuries. Not much of a budget for extras I suppose. I figured we'd get at least one episode with the Gov solving the ordinary problems of the people.

I'm guessing those same Zombies are the same folks walking around the town, it's hard to stripped them from their make up to regular folks, and visa versa biggrin.gif

She may not be playing the governor in the sense of trying to con him, but I'm pretty sure her (and everyone on the show) is trying to increase their chances of survival...wink.gif
I just don't thinks she's as naive as people think.

Case and point right after Gov sexually assaults Maggie...you get a moment of silence for that behavior to sink in and THEN BOOM CHRIS HARDWICK MANUFACTURED CELEBRITY KING OF GEEKS IS ALL UP IN YOUR GRILL WITH THE PATH TO SALVATION. #HASHTAG #SUPERFAN

Once he made her go topless the line was crossed.

Yeah, Maggie is so nice and was hard to watch. Maybe this will be the beginning of her turning to be more hard a$$ or something worse? I like her wholesomey character on the show ( guard tower aside smile.gif ) and would like to see her come out in good shape.

He explained it was his 3rd grade teacher's name and she was important to him. Seems like a natural choice other than his mother's name.

I agree that the scene in which the Governor made Maggie bare her breasts was pretty hard to take. Worse, it's possible that he raped her, although that wasn't made clear. Glenn is proving to be quite a man. If he finds out what the Governor did and gets a chance to retaliate, the Governor had better watch his ass. I might give the same warning to Merle. Glenn is smart, resourceful, and, to say the least, brave.

I don't particularly like Andrea, nor was I comparing her character to Rick's. It just seems that a lot of people are jumping on her for not being suspicious about something she has no reason to be suspicious about.

I struggle with this every week. I prefer not to see them as, like you said, they just reveal too much and make the next episode less enjoyable. On the flip side, when the show ends every week I just want mooooooooore and it's hard to resist. I'm usually about 50/50 on whether I can hold out or not.

Maggie is very attractive, and has a fit body. When she first had to remove her shirt, I was titillated, but the feeling quickly turned to disgust as the Gov abused her.

I have the feeling Glenn will take gruesome revenge upon both Merle and the Gov.

One other nitpick: Isn't it weird how the Gov has a brick wall right outside his office/dwelling door? It appears to have been an office suite in a business building, but it's kind of a strange layout. Or, maybe he had the wall installed to make the door more secure. Intruders could only approach single-file from either end of the hall, and wouldn't have room to hide. We did see that his private room (w/ the "fish tanks") has a hastily-constructed wall and door that was obviously added recently.

Not only that, but I'm dying for back story on Michonne. Why is she so rough and hard with minimal personality? Did something extra traumatic happen besides the world wide zombie breakout? We need more flashbacks/back story!

By the way, this is Maggie off-screen. Wow!

You know, we've come a long way from ealier posts where some felt Michonne was not that great of a character .. not that I was one of them .. I mean, how can you not like a hot, sword wielding tough woman that would just as soon spit in your eye than look at you .. .. ??

The Governor is a delightfully quirky, although often charming, sociopath. No new act of depravity he commits surprises me. What a fascinating fellow the Governor is! I have particularly enjoyed David Morrissey's performances as the man. Not surprisingly, he affects a convincing southern accent and has the size and the good looks required, too. You can't beat British actors!

I find it hard to believe they actually have to PAY people for being extras on the highest rated show on tv. Millions of people watch this you dont think they can find 75 people who would get the joy of just strolling around Woodbury on cue?

Also as far as sneek peaks and "next week promos" go..who ever edits those should win an award. They are never what they appear to be.

SNF is the highest rated show on tv....you didnt give that scipted disclaimer so.
sorry..thought the word "show" was a given...thats why they break from now until after superbowl...when they come back in feb they will really have zero competition..i dont think even boardwalk empire will be on at that time too
post #3236 of 6194
Yea but SNF is considered a show too:

http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2012/11/21/nfl-games-rank-as-tvs-two-most-watched-shows-for-10th-time-in-11-weeks/158638/

I think boardwalk has their season finale sunday so yea they will be gone too.

This is TRUE...One of the reason I'm always surprise when watching the show, always surprise ( I'm a simple man smile.gif )

For instance, happy I never opened my mouth about it. Before this pass weeks epi aired the coming trailer or what ever they're called showed what appeared a neglected Andrea, it look like the Gov didn't want anything from her, yet it was the opposite...Great editing fo sho.
