Glenn is proving to be quite a man. If he finds out what the Governor did and gets a chance to retaliate, the Governor had better watch his ass. I might give the same warning to Merle. Glenn is smart, resourceful, and, to say the least, brave.

It was pretty clear that the governor didn't take it that far. Doesn't really make him any less scummy though.

+2 It was clear that the Governor did not rape her. Good grief. He escalated the confrontation, and took her to Glen to demonstrate his willingness to escalate the confrontation as much as necessary to get what he wanted.

The creepy look the Gov gave her as she disrobed was excellent acting.

They're clearly moving The Gov more and more into full-bore psycho/sociopath territory. A handlebar mustache would be a nice touch, I think.

^^^^^ well done scene indeed all around! It was a tough scene to watch even for a "gov". wink.gif

First, I don't argue that the chances are, you are right that the Governor didn't rape Maggie. I went back and rewatched last week's episode before I posted, though, and continue to refuse to categorically dismiss the remote possibility that the Governor did rape Maggie. I do so primarily because of how much bait and switch there always, I say again always, is in serialized TV shows. Also, the look of sexual hunger on the Governor's face when he stood and removed his gun belt, as well as the stricken look on Maggie's face when she first saw Glenn after her confrontation with the Governor, were disquieting. Either way, it was riveting television.

The governor on the show compared to the comics. (Google image search from screenrant.com)

For the comic book readers, I stumbled on this site (http://www.yellmagazine.com/top-10-greatest-walking-dead-moments-comic-absolutely-television/18926/) which reminded me of a lot of cool stuff from the comics. Spoilers obviously. The governor's daughter stuff was funny, then really disturbing.

To follow your idea if it played out in the scene, it would make no sense for Maggie to show up in front of Glen sporting her pants but still topless. If the Governor were going to take things to that extreme, it would make absolutely no sense to have her pull her jeans back on, but leave the shirt off. If the gov were to take things that far, the most shock value would be to throw her to Glen in her completely nude state. Your suggestion is inconsistent with the logic of the scene as shown. Not that logic has ever hampered a TV show writer. wink.gif

You can slice it anyway you want to justify your position. I was simply explaining why I think there is a chance that the thoroughly evil and crazy Governor did rape Maggie. It's a difference of opinion. As you know as well as I do, It happens at AVS

I attributed Maggie's expression to a reaction to how horrible Glenn looked - beat up, bloody, etc.

Could be. I think we agree that it's all a matter of interpretation. My interpretation was that Maggie was also concerned that the Governor had proprietorially escorted her into Glenn's presence while her breasts were exposed -- except to the extent she could could cover them with her arms.

I just think they would have given us more if it went all the way, sounds at least or a cut to her pulling her pants back up, something. They took it to the very edge of it happening, and then he pulled away and the scene continued - why go that far and then go away from it, only to come back without making it known to the audience? Would be a very clunky writing choice. If they wanted to make it ambiguous to the audience, they would have ended the scene before that.

+1 on that. What an intense fight scene too.

I expected Michonne to have done what she did to Penny about 2 episodes ago, when she was first snooping around the governor's apartment. Good use of the dead walker. Great episode.

Tyreese and his people are locked in that cell, so pretty sure we'll be seeing him.

This, so far, has been my favorite season. I have wanted Lori to die for the longest time, I really despised her. When this last show ended two works popped out of my mouth, they started with F and Y.

I don't know who I was yelling at, probably the creators for ending it where they did. Though I know how it's going to turn out from the previews, it still makes me anxious to see it.

Should we call Tyreese "V-Dog". Running out of letters here.
Very good Mid season finale.

Well, the controversy over Maggie raped or not was answered ..

Michonne and Carl really did a great job ..

A lot was packed into last nights mid-season .. hard to believe everything that took place in what .. ?? 40 something minutes .. ??

I'm wondering if a feature film might be a possibility at some point ..

Just when you think she is going to see the light.....

Great episode. I had visions of Michone setting the Gov's daughter loose on him. Michone seems to be taking a bit of a turn - you could see the vulnerability on her when she was somewhat pleading with Rick at the end. I skipped out on the previews for the 2nd half of the season, but love that a new group was introduced and that the Gov is about to become full blown insane (along with his town).
