It wasn't just you, we felt the same way and can't put our finger on the reason as to why.

Yeah, I was kinda surprised to feel a little let down after watching. I don't know why really because nothing really stood out as being wrong with it. Maybe its just my reaction to the long break and the great episodes leading up to it, I dunno. It was clearly a setup episode too, introducing a lot of where they are going. The alienation between Glenn and his girlfriend, his frusrtration with Rick, Michonne and Daryl seemingly being kicked out, And then there is Rick apparently close to a breakdown while the Governor's reaction to the attack was left up in the air...I'm THINKING it was a good episode, but I can't help FEELING something was missing, if that makes any sense.

The things that bothered me with the last episode:

1. The ridiculously stupid town folks.
I mean really, those people are as dumb is a sack of bricks. Honking a horn to get someone to open the gate? Getting attacked by a walker in the middle of an empty street? Liking Andrea's speech?

2. Michonne's lack words.

3. Maggie didn't shoot the Gov when she was sniping.

4. Glen and Maggie's drama. Not real sure what their problem is, but I don't like it.

5. Even ghost Lori sucks.

Over all I enjoyed it and I'm glad it's back. Merle was funny as ever.

If my son wasn't so into this show (and into me watching it with him, which is cool by me), I would have dumped it a long time ago. It looks like ****, worst PQ of any HD show by far, most of the time nothing happens, and I don't care at all about any of the characters. Does anyone know (or care) what Herschel's younger daughter's name is?

It's stupid, inconsistent, and filled with terrible dialog that is supposed to pass for character development. Daryl is the most interesting character and even he hasn't been that interesting in a while. And Rick? Jesus jumped up a sidecar, who the hell would follow that lunatic at this point?

This show is a factory of dumbness (with apologies to Mike Polk ... ).

Yeah lets get this show cancel, worst epi/show ever rolleyes.gif

Beth is the younger daughter. I enjoyed last nights episode, maybe because I watched a lot of the marathon yesterday afternoon and watched at least the three episodes before the new one, maybe I was in a better watching mood or something.

I agree. I'm not into an hour long dissection and tuned out at the first break. The 1/2 show was about right and fun.
Yea but they can milk more $$ out of 1 hour than 0.5.

The reason for the thursday b@w walking dead is they are using it as a leadin to their new thursday nite show block.

If they just ran a usual walking dead it would be been there done that so this way doing b@w is doing something different since they only aired the pilot in b@w before.

I'm not trying to get it canceled -- never said it or even implied it -- and it's fine if other people like it. There are things I like about the show but the bad far outweighs the good, for me. All I said was that if my son didn't want me to watch it with him (he's 13 and loves zombies), I wouldn't bother.
Overall, the show is still better than 95% of the garbage currently on the air, but last night did feel a little off. Maybe it was the look of that opening scene...completely looked like a set to me and the people in the crowd looked generic, like something out of a Madden video game crowd shot. I agree about Rick, if anyone follows him now, they're morons. Apparently, in the books, the imaginary phone conversations went on for a while and showed a more detailed version of his breakdown...maybe that would have helped, to show more of that instead of just those one or two episodes. Also, how old is that baby...a week? I know they can't use a real one week old, but that girl is going to be 8 feet tall and 400lbs+...it's huge for a week old.

I think we got use to the BAM-ZOOM of the first half of the season, and when things get a little bit more analytical, and taking a step back there's an angry mob ready to burn it down.I myself love the conversation, and the little nuances of the character, and the road they're going as they're loosing what ever humanity they had..I feel most of these folks, would have been good every day citizens in a world without being forsaken-ly so..I would be pissed of at God, and full tilt!

Also the comment wasn't necessarily towards you, or anyone in particular, I can just see 20 plus post of the same, and not letting the important of the show shine with out getting it's fare share.

rant over

Well, I thought it was pretty good until Lori showed up to ruin everything again.
I think its setting up for Glenn to start taking more of a leadership role, but in a more universal approach to the way its been under Rick with the what he says goes and they all follow. I think they are going to start seeing he is just not in the mind set to make all the final decisions anymore. We seen it in this episode with Glenn and Hershal challenging his decisions, and he had his breakdown of sorts right in front of everyone else. Just my 2 cents. My buddy is convinced that Rick is changing into a walker lol!
I liked the ep for the most part. I thought some statements were made about the nature of family and leadership. Woodbury started to collapse into chaos and the Govenor and his henchmen started to show themselves as thugs. Andrea stepped in a calmed everyone by saying things like "we are all in this together" and "we shall persevere". Really opened some eyes.

The Atlanta gang showed cracks in Rick's leadership and Rick teetering on insanity as well. Really liked how the group handled their reaction to Rick (until Rick went cookoo for cocoapuffs).

I thought the dilemma with Daryl and Merle was a tough one. How would anyone else resolve it? You want to keep Daryl in the group and he requires that you bring Merle back. Merle has tortured Glen and almost raped Maggie (or was that just the Gov?) and shows that he will undermine everyone's authority every minute and cannot be trusted. Not sure what I would have done.

I get excited (not really...) when this show comes back, only to re realize how much of a drama train wreck it is... Damn me.

It was underwhelming, it was weaker than any of the first half of this season's episodes by a pretty wide margin (in my opinion). Something must have changed behind the scenes because it was just off in so many places. I hope they can pick it up and it doesn't unravel from here.
I was slightly dissapointed in a couple things. Really upset with the direction of Daryl, the highlight of the show for us. Leaving the group, just sucks, sure even if they bring him back, etc. we still have to wait until that happens. I enjoyed it much more when he was Rick's right hand man.

I also hate the whole Rick is imagining things and seeing his wife. Just kind of dumb why he is doing that, etc. Sure a lot has happened, but a lot has happened to a lot of other people, why is he snapping right now. Don't like that direction at all.

Also don't like he wants to kick Tyresse out of the prison, they need some strong people, he is loosing his numbers fast and he has young women, old man with one leg, young kid, etc. He needs fresh meat so to speak. Lame decision.

Glad its back though, I sure have missed watching this.

AMC hit 'Walking Dead' sets series ratings record

NEW YORK -- The zombies keep getting stronger.

AMC's hit "The Walking Dead" set a series record Sunday night with 12.3 million viewers. The show was returning from a hiatus, and the Nielsen Co. said it beats the series' previous record of 10.9 million for its third season debut last October.
More than half of Sunday's viewers, or 7.7 million, were in the youthful demographic of people ages 18 to 49. Nielsen says a cable series has never reached that big an audience in that age group.
That's impressive by broadcast standards, too. While "NCIS" on CBS was the most popular drama on

^ This. We were definitely spoiled by the first half of the season.

I love this show, I just hope it doesn't spiral into the muddled mess that Lost became.

I like the fact that Rick is losing it.
It feel's more realistic (can I even use that word about a zombie series?) because he hasn't really grieved over Lori, he's very sleep deprived, and then there's that baby. Lack of sleep can cause hallucinations. We haven't seen how the group will respond to his little breakdown yet, so I'm hoping they don't just blindly follow him now. Kicking Tyresse out is a sign of him losing it, obviously they group needs strong abled body people but Rick is just not fit to make decisions at this point. The first time he kicked someone out of the prison it didn't work out so well.
Rick just needs a good nights sleep.

Daryl leaving the group doesn't bother me as long as he still in the show. Probably setting things up for him to save the day later on.
Heck, I'd watch a spinoff show of those crazy Dixon brothers!

He's kicking Tyrese and friends out because he's a froot loop now, it's not a rational decision. I'm sure Daryl will be back sooner rather than later, with or without Merle. I have to hope the writers aren't stupid and know that Daryl is a key player.

My impression is that it's advertising inserted by the App being used, and not something that the user can turn off. iPhone mail systems insert an equivalent statement at the ends of their email messages.

Rick's face was softening and he seemed ready to acceed to Hershel's argument when the hallucination started. He was actually shouting "get out!" to the hallucination, but of course nobody else knew that and Rick was too blitzed to explain himself.

I'm sure when Rick gets some sleep he'll be more reasonable, and Tyrese's group won't have gone far.

Not really spam but it does indicate that the post is being generated by a mobile app called tap a talk that is supposed to make mobile device posting on forums easier. I never use it because it is easy enough to type on the mobile device being used, such as a smart phone, tablet, or ipad.

I am not sure that the tap a talk message can be defeated but my Samsung Galaxy Tab and Samsung Siii insert a "sent by" message at the bottom of e-mails that can be defeated.

O.T.O.H. I suppose it is a form of spam.

The iPad version of Tapatalk lets you edit (or eliminate) your signature, which is "Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD" by default.

I imagine your version has a similar option.
