"The Walking Dead" on AMC HD - Page 122

Good call on the NG armories - even if they were picked clean of guns and ammo they'd still be great places to defend because many of them aren't that big and you only have to guard the front door. You'll always have the problem of finding food and ammo though.

But there would be no showdown with a cycloptic villain and his stupidly shortsighted henchmen.

The group should find a Telephone company Central office to use as a base. Concrete or brick construction, no first floor windows. The windows that they do have also have metal hurricane shutters that come down. In addition, most are also fenced and gated. ( I actually happen to work in one, in GA that would do nicely!)

There's building like that here in town. Apparently it's also nuclear blast reinforced from what I've read as my hometown was some sort of telecommunications hub during the Cold War. Hardly any windows at all and only 2 visible entrances, as it's just a 4 story rectangle.

The b&w Walking Dead looks really good on my projector. Gives
you a whole new perspective seeing it this way.

Sounds like a real easy place to get trapped inside of by a relatively small force.

From the long term perspective .. and not that it will ever likely unfold on WD .. but at some point the survivors are going to have to start some sort of agriculture ..

In that case, maybe they should settle down on a farm or something....they could have cows, a barn....

...oh wait...

They mentioned that in an earlier episode when they first got to the prison. Said the fenced in yard would be a good place to grow crops.

Said it before - A Zoo would be a great spot. Large secured area, multiple secure areas within and a huge variety of meat.
It would be nice to see an updated map as to where the group has traveled, and where the herd is heading. They made reference to the herd moving in a certain direction, which has limited their mobility to some extent. I wonder how large it has grown.

Won't happen. The walking dead chapter of PETA would strongly object.

All the animals have starved by now.

The first part of my tech school, at Sheppard AFB, was in a four-story building - two doors, no windows.

*Brain fart - that building was at Lackland, Sheppard was the second half of my tech school and mostly in buildings attached to hangars. No windows in the rooms either, but lots of doors.

I rather enjoyed this. All of my tech school training at Sheppard AFB, just under a years worth, was in single story buildings. Lots of doors, lots of windows. Then I went over to Walker AFB and my workplace was 186 feet deep. One outside door, no windows..... wink.gif

Presumably the military training bases are crawling with large numbers of biters in the Walking Dead universe. They would have started with a large enough population that a small group should never even consider going near them. Many of them are near major urban population centers, too.

(I got most of my training at Keesler.)

Something funny I forgot to mention in last week's episode:

When Daryl and Merle are walking in the woods, they argue over whether they're heading toward the Yellow Jacket Creek or another body of water. I think Daryl posited the Yellow Jacket. Then, we have the intense scene on the bridge. Finally, we see Daryl walking off the end of the bridge, and we see (but he doesn't) a sign that reads "Yellow Jacket Creek."

Pretty good episode, Good to see Andrea reunite with some old friends, I knew she wasn't going to be able to kill the Gov. For one its to easy of an end to that storyline. Looks like Rick got his head back on straight again at least for now. The other crew that was at the prison and is now with the Gov. I think is the wild card in an eventual battle between the two sides, depending on how they lean in helping out one side or the other. Looking forward to next weeks episode as I'm sure there will be some major fireworks in that episode.

The Talking Dead really needs to go back to half an hour.

AMC is basically The Walking Dead channel now. They'll find any way to keep it onscreen for as long as possible. I never watch AMC apart from Sunday night because the rest of the week almost every show is just a snipe billboard for the next episode.

And I hope Andrea is the next person to die. I started getting tired of her the moment she suddenly became the Housing Association President.

Governor looked to have an "eye" out for Tyrese's wife. Feels like while Rick, Michone, and Carl are gone...that Merle will try to pull something. Only one who can slow him down now is his brother

I saw that also! I also saw "something" in the way Merle apologized and his talk with Herschel. Maybe him missing Daryl will change him. I see the seen with the back scars, and other small items leading me to believe this.

Really? They use that word all the time on that show; have since the beginning. It's just not as often as in a show like "Suits."

Last night's episode was decent but not great. So far the second half of the season has had good character development but not much plot advancement in my opinion. Andrea is an idiot.

Pretty good episode. The meeting with Andrea to "go back" and review what went on with the group was good. Knew, of course, that Andrea wouldn't do it, still a well done scene... Talking Dead, is so lame, who cares what the first 2 guests think??? They know what we know.... The Host getting the curb job, sounds good..... Please go back to 1/2 hour.... [Rant over]...

Agree on the episode being descent, I think next week show will be a little of the same as this one..Btw how many more epi do we have? I gotta say the special effects are way up there, the Govs missing wink.gif was super creppy, along with Andrea knocking the jaw off the walker made the show for me biggrin.gif

I don't think Andrea will leave that town for any reason now. If gov dies, she's taking over. I have really hated her since the start of this season really. Just disappointment after disappointment.

As for Merle. He might actually feel a small amount of remorse for some of the things he's done. The fact that his brother is actually a voice of reason is a big part of changing him. I think they are building him up to redeem himself. He's never going to stop being a prick, but I think he will do something decent before the end. Or I could be completely wrong and he's worming his way into a position to screw everyone, to help himself.

I actually enjoy the Talking Dead as an hour. I can understand some people don't like Hardwick, but I like the real time discussion. Lot better than a forum.
It's not about Hardwick for me. I think he is a pretty good spokesman for his generation and should have a good career. It's a tude that Walking Dead fans all want an hour which might have been a bit of a miscalculation probably due to a campaign by the most zealous. After all you have plenty of stuff on the Internet for extras. I enjoyed the 1/2 hour roundup but an hour? I found myself fast forwarding through to find sections worth watching.

Agreed. The effects are better than many current movies I've seen. I love it!
