Not my argument. You should be quoting the previous post.

I consider it a waste of time and energy because to dig an effective moat would require not only a lot of people digging very quickly but also a lot of people to act as a defensive force while the digging is taking place. Which puts too many potential (and clearly useless) bodies in harm's way.

so it seems michonne has perhaps suffered the loss of a child to a walker? and perhaps that is what fuels her badassness?

and as for carol wanting to desperately teach the children survival techniques, let's not forget she lost her child to a walker. if sophia had been taught how to use a knife perhaps she could have survived?

i hope i missed the disclaimer that those pigs were not actually harmed. rick's slicing looked a little too real for my animal-loving self.

and lastly, is it wrong to fantasize about a menage a trois with rick and daryl?

Said on the Talking Dead that the pig slicing was CG and the rats were real. They fed them into mechanical walker mouths, but weren't harmed.

You need a bigger television because from here it was obvious CGI. The blade barely matched the cut in the first instance.

Once it starts filling up, use the heavy equipment to reach in and squash them all at once, over and over, scoop up the smashed parts, pile them outside, away from the prison, downwind to keep zombies from smelling things and maybe coming there, or bury them and re-dig moat, or leave them in there and keep squashing them. The moat would also help against attacks from outside human forces. Combined with some spikes like Rick's buddy from Episode one built in that town and now they don't have to worry about walkers.

Yeah that ONE guy from the Clear epi did it with all the booby traps, spike and all don't understand how more that 50 people can gather and work on something..

Anyone else notice how the one zombie stopped eating the other just as soon as he turned? I've always wondered why they don't canabalize, especially when they've turned so recently.

Do it in between the gates then, they want to make the prison their home, they'll need to reinforce the place.

i have a 50" sony led hdtv, thank you very much. tongue.gif i did have it professionally calibrated and that does tend to tone down the overly sharpness of factory settings, so perhaps that's why it looked more believable to me.

A moat between fences would just make it harder for them to prop up the exterior fence when they fail to clear it every week, plus when the fence collapses it will create a bridge. A moat at the gate wouldn't make much difference since that isn't the weakest part. They made the effort to barricade that place and add an another layer of defense.

You have to wonder why they haven't bothered to reinforce that external fence from the inside either. When it collapsed this week someone magically found some beams to prop it up. Why not build an internal barrier to support the fence?

I don't think it's possible to make the PQ of Dead any brighter than Murk no matter what setting you have. tongue.gif

And unless my extra five inches matters more it was still a blatantly fake CGI effect. The cut line was barely able to track the knife.

In the end credits it said that no animals were harmed during the making of the show.

Neither humans or zombies were harmed in this episode..

I thought for a second Michonne was a goner, she barely made it thru, nice push ups she performs on her cell, I couldn't do those.. LOL

Nice at Emily Kinney showcasing her voice a bit...

Stay out of the yard, and the zombies quit hanging on fence. If no people or pigs, they simply wander around. I just don't get the manageable level always hanging on fence. Kill them all off, the zombies there make noise just attract more. I mean what happens if a herd wanders in when already have 20-30 on fence, game over.

We had a newly turned zombie get head stomped in. I thought the explanation that the zombies over time bones got weak was a good one, but these were new fresh zombies.

Didn't they bury zombies out in the yard? I thought all the earthworms in the pig feed had maybe eaten some zombie, gotten eaten by pigs, pigs eaten by people. Makes more sense than swine flu.

What they really need is a snowplow. Too bad they're in a part of the country where such things are very uncommon.

Hey Mr. Kill joy, what are the children going to play with, huh? Nick the Zombie didn't seem to mind much wink.gif

Seriously though, I thought about that as well that was pretty gross and not too hard to figure out..rolleyes.gif Never eaten the stuff never will, I've seen too many of my pals getting sick after eating it after a long night of drinking.

HOLLY SH!T I was thinking of that earlier, or even those farming tractors with the giants blades on the sides, but they're going to Modded a bit, and some sort of covering of the faces and things of that nature to avoid blood in your face not that it matters Rick killing the pigs would have died already.

Even if you didn't dig a full moat, maybe dig a big @ss hole and lure them all in and burn them. Wait a month or so and do it again.
The fence is an issue they might of had a week or two after the outbreak, but not two years into it.

Not at all. But replace those names with Maggie and Beth and it's even better.

This season has been frustrating to watch because it seems like the characters are constantly doing things differently than how I would have done it. When Rick drew all the walkers away from the fence last night I was thinking, "Ok, now kill them all" (grenades, 50 cal machine gun, gasoline and fire, etc). But no....

They discussed this on the talking dead last night when someone made a similar suggestion. Greg Nicotero was saying that "in their world", they are always thinking about the flip side of decisions they make. Such as, if they mow them all down with heavy machine guns, grenades, a giant bonfire, etc, what/who else will that attract to them? They are not only trying to survive the walkers, but they are trying to survive other malevolent people as well, (such as the governor). So they make choices that would have the least possible impact in that regard.

Yup, and this is not the first time this was mentioned (maybe in last season's Talking Dead?).

It makes sense to use a meandering crowd of walkers outside of the outer fence as both defense against hostile humans as well as general camouflage.

But of course that assumes the "meandering crowd" doesn't become a threat, as they obviously have.

Cliff (who's trying to think of something witty to add to the "menage trois" discussion .. but am drawing a blank ... which at least is not "firing a blank")
